The report of the Nineteenth National Congress pointed out that culture is the soul of a country and a nation, and when culture is prosperous, the country is prosperous, and if culture is strong, the nation is strong. Socialist construction did not fall from the sky but developed on the basis of tradition. Socialist culture with Chinese characteristics originates from the chinese nation's more than 5,000 years of cultural civilization history. Chinese culture has a long history and a rich cultural heritage. Understanding the basic national conditions of the mainland and recognizing the inevitability of the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics will establish self-confidence in the road, theory, system and culture. The construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics is to build our country on the basis of inheriting and carrying forward the excellent traditional culture.

Education is the basic carrier of cultural inheritance, and its core is the casting of human values, the cultivation of spirit and the inheritance of culture. Learning to grasp the ideological essence of Chinese culture is of great significance to establishing a correct outlook on life, values and world outlook. Let us recall that during the War of Resistance Against Japan, not only the Chinese at home, but also the Overseas Chinese also rose up to support the Anti-Japanese Resistance. What is this power? This is the power of the nation. Therefore, strengthening the education of China's excellent traditional culture is an important part of Lide Shuren.

Education bears the responsibility of enhancing the cultural self-confidence of the whole nation, and education must not lose its soul, but must vigorously cultivate the root of the Chinese national spirit and the soul of patriotism. Education must first cultivate people and cultivate Chinese. Confucius said to cultivate gentlemen, and the so-called "gentlemen" mainly refer to people with noble moral character. Only when a person has virtue can he do good deeds, and only if a person has no virtue, may do more bad things.

At the same time, Chinese culture has always been inclusive, absorbing all the achievements of human civilization and enriching the content of traditional Chinese culture. Deng Xiaoping pointed out: "Education should be oriented toward modernization, the world, and the future. On the basis of inheriting the mainland's excellent traditions, education should absorb the advanced concepts and experience of reform in world education, transform the traditional educational models and educational contents, and cultivate high-quality talents for socialist modernization. The importance of developing China's excellent traditional culture is self-evident, and I think it is mainly reflected in the following aspects.

First, China's excellent traditional culture is the foundation of the Chinese nation's survival. In the process of continuous cultural development for more than 5,000 years, the Chinese nation has created a broad and profound excellent culture. This is the gene of Chinese, the root and soul of Chinese. When a nation loses its excellent traditional culture, it ceases to exist. The four major civilizations of the ancient world: Babylonian civilization, Egyptian civilization, Indian civilization, and Chinese civilization, only Chinese civilization has continued continuously. Just because Chinese people have always regarded The excellent Chinese culture as their root and soul. She has become the gene of The sons and daughters of China, flowing endlessly in our blood.

Second, China's excellent traditional culture is the source of the Chinese nation's common cultivation of the national spirit. How do we train our students? The cultivation of the national spirit of the next generation depends on education to inherit. We must strengthen the education of Chinese excellent culture among students, cultivate students with ideals and beliefs, noble moral character, true skills, and dedication, and use the knowledge and skills they have learned to build a beautiful home.

Third, the education of China's excellent traditional culture is an important part of cultivating and carrying forward the core values of socialism. The core values of socialism include the national, social and individual levels, and are developed on the basis of China's excellent traditional culture. By carrying forward China's excellent traditional culture, we will strengthen our confidence in taking the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics. Cultural self-confidence is the foundation of the other three self-confidences. Culture can penetrate into a person's heart, penetrate into a person's blood, is deep and not easy to change.

Fourth, carrying forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture has provided a huge driving force for realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. Chinese culture has a long history and has made great contributions to human civilization. Of course, we have fallen behind for more than a hundred years; however, under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, Chinese people have overthrown the three mountains and stood up; through reform and opening up, we have become rich; and in order to realize the Chinese dream, we must become stronger. Carrying forward China's excellent traditional culture is a great driving force for realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The importance of inheriting China's excellent traditional culture is clarified, and educators should also study what culture and how to pass on to students. Education has the function of dissemination, selection and creation of culture. Traditional Chinese culture was formed in the long river of history, among which there are backward concepts and customs. Education should choose the excellent content to inherit and carry forward. At the same time, it is necessary to create something new, innovate the old, and create a new culture that conforms to the spirit of the times.

Li Wenjun was a master's student in 1995 at the School of Education Management of Beijing Normal University, and at that time I was also the dean of the School of Education Management, which was also my student. Later, he went to Shandong University to study Chinese philosophy, and after graduating from the doctorate and working at the Shandong Provincial Academy of Educational Sciences, he was enthusiastic about the teaching and research of chinese traditional excellent culture education, and organized and compiled the "Traditional Culture Teaching and Research Series" in 2020. This series of books recommends the scientific research results of traditional culture education teaching and the basic theories and methods of traditional culture education curriculum design to schools and teachers, and provides examples of successful traditional culture education and teaching in recent years.

I sincerely hope that the publication of the series of books can provide useful resources for schools to strengthen the construction of Chinese excellent traditional culture curriculum, and it is hoped that Chinese excellent traditional culture will be truly integrated into the national education system, enhance the ability and self-confidence of schools and teachers in traditional culture education and teaching, stimulate the vitality of educational reform and innovation, implement the fundamental task of Lide Shuren, and make positive contributions to the realization of education modernization.
