After the Launch of the Switch in March 2017, Nintendo Games reported total cumulative sales of $59.8 billion, with more than half of that revenue coming from console sales. The data comes from Nintendo's third-quarter 2022 earnings report, as well as analysis by Derek Strickland, editor of the TweakTown website.

Unlike other console makers, Nintendo made a profit by selling the Switch, and most of his revenue came from hardware sales, with $33.16 billion (about 55 percent) of the roughly $60 billion in revenue coming from consoles, a figure that includes sales of Wii U and 3DS, but sales of older consoles have declined significantly. The rest came from game sales, with a total of 766.41 million Switch games sold.

Of the Switch sold, 81.68 million were base models, followed by the Switch Lite with 17.87 million units, and the third was the newly launched Switch OLED with 3.99 million units.

Although the Switch is now in its sixth year on the market, the series of devices shows no signs of slowing down in hardware and software sales.
