In a recent SE podcast, Tomoya Asano, producer of "Journeyman of The Eight Directions," Takashi Tokishi Tokida, and producer of "Triangular Tactics, Yasuaki Arai," discussed the gameplay about SE. During the conversation, they confirmed se's plans to launch more HD-2D classic RPG resets.
Tomoru Asano also said that SE President Yosuke Matsuda directly proposed a plan to focus on the release and reset of HD-2D and listed a shortlist. The first game selected on the list was Time Warriors, followed by Resa Strikes. The reset of Time Warriors was announced not long ago, with Ressa Strike: Revival released in September 2021.
Of course, Time Warrior and Ressa Strike: Revival Are just the first two approved games. SE's next HD-2D plans remain to be seen. However, JRPG games for other SNES platforms may also be the focus.
Among the resets that SE has announced, there are three "reset styles": "Ressa Strikes: Revival Edition" completely redesigns the visuals of the original game and expands the game in a meaningful way. Time Warrior retains a lot of the visuals of the original game, but has completely reinvented it with a new aesthetic. Meanwhile, Wheel of Time will be a very standard reset game. In the future, the new reset works will adopt that style, we do not know.
