I love Germany so much that I wish there were two Germanys. - Mauriac
The benefits of technological progress to life are reflected in all aspects, and transportation is undoubtedly one of the most prominent.

In the past, if people wanted to travel, they usually had to use boats, horses and other modes of transportation to reach their destination from the place of departure, which undoubtedly took a long time.
But now, after the development of science and technology, if people want to travel, they can choose to take planes, trains and private cars, the speed has increased by more than a little bit compared with before, usually in the previous places that took more than ten days or even a month to reach, now it only takes a few hours.
The convenience of transportation shortens the distance between people and makes the earth "smaller", but even if the transportation is convenient, it does not shorten a special place, even if the two cities there are only "separated by a wall".
This is the "Berlin Wall."
The birth of the Berlin Wall
If you want to understand the Berlin Wall, you have to mention the history of the Second World War.
As we all know, Germany was one of the countries that provoked the outbreak of World War II, and at the same time it was a defeated country in World War II.
After the war, Germany not only had to bear a huge amount of economic compensation, but also had to be divided into territories, dividing the country into several regions, occupied by Britain, the United States, France, and the Soviet Union.
Logically, once such a situation is formed, it is difficult to be broken, but Germany waited for this "opportunity" because war broke out between the United States and the Soviet Union.
The confrontation between the two countries changed the situation dramatically, with Germany merging territories occupied by Britain, the United States, and France, competing with the areas previously occupied by the Soviet Union, and Germany was redivided into East germany and West Germany, with East Germany still under soviet union and West Germany under Anglo-American rule.
This time the situation changed for more than half a century.
During these times, both East and West Germany were moving forward, but the pace of development in East Germany was too slow compared to West Germany.
While the people of East Germany were still "eating chaff and throat dishes", the people of West Germany still lived a rich life of drunken gold fans.
The people of East Germany were so dissatisfied that every year someone tried their best to get out of control and flee from East Germany to the more economically developed West Germany.
In just a few years, the population of East Germany lost nearly three million, which is a terrible number, and East Germany fell into a stage of economic stagnation.
Economic backwardness leads to the loss of talent, and after the loss of a large number of talents, the economy will be more stagnant.
For the East Germans, the situation was a vicious circle, and they had to come up with countermeasures to change the current situation.
So, in 1961, Germany began to act.
They built a "heavenly" wall on the border of West Berlin, and installed a barbed net on the edge of the wall, hoping to use this wall to completely block the exchange between East and West Germany.
II. "A Wall Apart"
East Germany originally thought that as long as this wall existed, the people inside the wall would no longer be bent on running to West Germany.
However, they underestimate people's desire for the most basic need to "eat and dress".
Even if there are many obstacles on the Berlin Wall, many people are still willing to try it for the sake of subsistence.
So, every year after the wall was built, thousands of people in East Germany would find ways to climb over it.
Some people want to be able to outwit themselves, so they deliberately exercise their bodies so that they can be exceptionally soft, and then hide in the trunk or engine of the car.
Some people prefer to take risks, so they simply jump into the river and swim hard, or make a hot air balloon and try to float through the sky.
When the people of East Germany were too eager to cross this wall, they basically tried everything they could think of and could use.
In the midst of such unremitting efforts, some people have succeeded and achieved great changes in the quality of life, while others have failed, paying the price of arrest or even paying for their lives.
In the eyes of the people of East Germany, this wall was simply a terrible crime, blocking all their future.
But in the eyes of the army on the side of the Berlin Wall, these people were like "rushing to find death", so that they had to expand their forces again and again to stop these troublesome people.
As the defense of the Berlin Wall became more and more stringent, everything people could think of was exhausted.
Some people began to open up a whole new way of thinking, that is, since you can't directly cross this wall, why not take a detour to enter West Germany from somewhere else?
As a result, some people began to study the world map, and found that if they started from East Germany, passed through some countries and arrived in China, and then arrived in Britain from Hong Kong, They could finally enter West Germany from Britain.
It should be said that this is indeed a good idea, and it is safer than simply crossing this wall, except for the need to take "some" long detours.
But this "some" is a huge project, adding up all the distances on this route, and it takes tens of thousands of miles to travel, which takes several years.
The fall of the Berlin Wall
There are only two places "separated by a wall", but in the end, they have to go around To China and walk tens of thousands of miles to reach the opposite side. I have to say that this is a very sad thing for the German people.
Fortunately, this sadness lasted only a few decades, and in 1989 there was a new hope.
In 1989, the situation in Germany was turbulent, and the dramatic changes in Eastern Europe made the existence of the Berlin Wall once again a great controversy.
At this time, a politician named Krrenz came to power, and the first thing he did was order the cutting of the Berlin Wall.
This wall, which had existed for many years, collapsed in the presence of the people of East and West Germany.
There was an indescribable excitement in everyone's hearts, because it meant that from then on, the people of East Germany would finally no longer have to go to great lengths to enter West Germany, the people living in two places could finally be reunited, and Germany would finally no longer have to face a situation of division.
Today, although the Berlin Wall has been demolished, it still retains certain traces of history, so every year countless tourists come here to visit the wall, which only exists in history, and feel the heavy history that once existed on it.
