NFT artists blow lamborghinis into 999 pieces for sale: at least $1 million

A Lamborghini supercar was blown to pieces, and then each fragment was taken into a stand-alone image and sold separately, for a total of more than $1 million (about 6.3281 million yuan), which sounded like a fantasy, and it was turned out to be true.

Recently, an NFT artist named "Shl0ms" recently announced that he will hold an auction on February 25 to sell independent images of hundreds of fragments of a Lamborghini sports car that he blew up.

Each NFT work will be auctioned for 0.5 to 1 Piece of Ethereum, and at Ethereum's current price, the total expected sale will be between $1.12 million and $2.24 million, several times the $250,000 he paid for the Lamborghini.

It is understood that in September last year, Shl0ms put forward the idea of "physically splitting" a Lamborghini on Twitter, and fans gave him the idea of blowing up the car.

Unexpectedly, he actually adopted this seemingly crazy advice, so he took out most of the money out of his own pocket and bought a brand new Lamborghini sports car.

But his goal was to blow up the car, not to turn it to ashes, so that there was enough debris to sell.

To that end, the artist also assembled a team of 100 people, and in order to accurately handle the firepower of blowing up a car, the team hired a licensed explosives engineer, who said it was his most challenging explosion to date.

On 2 February, the Lamborghini was successfully blown up.

After the explosion, the team collected 999 fragments from the Lamborghini and recorded each one in 4K video quality, of which 111 fragments will be awarded to the team and initial funding providers, and the remaining 888 fragments will be sold, scheduled for auction on February 25.

Curiously, would someone really pay a high price to buy a separate video work?
