In the end, the two won the Beijing Winter Olympics figure skating pair skating championship with a total score of 239.88 points. The Russian Olympic Committee's Tarasova/Morozov and Miřina/Gallamov ranked second and third respectively, while another group of Chinese players peng cheng/Jin Yang, who broke into the pairs free skating, also performed prominently, ranking fifth.
2022 is the 15th year of Sui Wenjing/Han Cong's partnership. In her first year of practicing pair skating, Sui Wenjing had just turned 12 years old. In September 2009, Sui Wenjing / Han Cong won the national figure skating championship as a "dark horse". Five years ago, at the World Championships in Helsinki, they won their first world title of their careers. At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, the "Onion Barrel Combination" scored a season-high 82.39 points in the short program, ranking first, and is recognized as a favorite to win the championship. But in the free slide, Sui Wenjing made two small mistakes. Four years later, "The Golden Bridge on the River of Sorrow" added a new story line, this time Sui Wenjing became a "bridge". In April 2020, Han Cong underwent hip surgery, and Sui Wenjing followed the team to Sanya for training. In order not to make the movement strange, just like Han Cong once borrowed a female companion to practice lifting, Sui Wenjing asked male players for pair skating training. This experience of their own efforts was written into the new "Golden Bridge on the River of Sorrows", and female voices were added to the music. "The bridge is already up, so let's go forward." With this belief, Sui Wenjing/Han Cong stood on the field of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
In the previously concluded figure skating team competition pair skating short program, Sui Wenjing / Han Cong scored 82.83 points, creating the best record of the new season, ranking first; the pair skating short program, 84.41 points, set another season best, ranking first; free skating 155.47 points, continuing to be the first; the total score of 239.88 points, or the first. In this way, with a series of firsts, Sui Wenjing / Han Cong won the championship of figure skating and pair skating at the Winter Olympics with undisputed results.
