His grandfather, Guo Wenze, taught for 38 years, worked as a teacher in Jixian Xiguan Primary School and Jixian No. 1 Middle School, and served as the director and deputy director of the Jixian Education Bureau and the secretary of the party branch. In the past few decades of work, he has abided by his duties and is honest and honest. His maternal grandfather, Chen Ruimin, taught for 37 years and worked as a political teacher at the Sanbei School in Jixian County. His father, Guo Youcheng, has been teaching for 43 years, and served as the director of political education and vice principal of Jixian No. 2 Middle School, during which his pragmatic work style has a high prestige among leaders and teachers. Her mother, Chen Yinhe, has been teaching for 38 years and has been working as a kindergarten teacher at Zushimiao Primary School in Jixian County. The elder brother, Guo Qiang, has been teaching for 23 years, and is currently the secretary of the Youth League Committee of the Second Central Committee of Jixian County, the director of political education, and after his father retired, his son inherited his father's business and fulfilled his responsibilities in his work.

Guo Yan, who has been teaching for 22 years, has taught in Linfenji County, Yuci Guojiabao Township Central School, Guojiapu Primary School, and was also the chief counselor of the Young Pioneers Brigade in Guojiabao Township.

In order to cultivate students' reading interest and patriotic spirit, she actively carried out the "Chinese Soul" theme reading activity. In 2010, despite the inconvenience of nasal polyps surgery, she ran through more than a dozen schools in the township, making the "Chinese Soul" theme reading in all schools in the township continue to climax. "Read more books, read good books" has become a common practice in all schools, and the township central school has been rated as an advanced collective in the national, provincial and municipal "Chinese soul" theme reading activities for several consecutive years.

At the call of the District Youth League Committee, she took the lead in forming the first "Rural Primary School Football Team" in Nangou Primary School in Guojiapu Township. At that time, in the case of "no venue, two no coaches, and three no funds", she persuaded her husband, who was engaged in physical education teaching in a foreign school, to "concurrently" coach; without a venue, she and the principal tried to find a way to "borrow"; there was no dedicated funds, suggesting that the school "squeeze" from public funds. In September 2018, she was transferred to Guojiapu Primary School as an art teacher, and in October of the same year, the whole district organized a comprehensive practice exhibition, and in order to successfully complete the task, she sacrificed the National Day holiday and devoted herself to the exhibition to let students be inspired and inspired in the works.

Over the years of teaching, she has achieved many gratifying results, but she has not stopped her pace, and the art workshops and reform cases she is responsible for in the 2021 Campus Culture and Art Festival have won the first prize in Yuci District; her work "Thinking of Drinking Water" has won the first prize of Yuci District; and the tutored student works have also won many awards.
