From April 2022, there will be 4 reforms to be implemented on the C1 driver's license:
Cancel the additional driving internship period
【Old】Article 74 The internship period is 12 months after the driver of a motor vehicle first applies for a motor vehicle driver's license and adds a quasi-driving type.
【New】Article 76 The internship period shall be 12 months after the driver of a motor vehicle first obtains a quasi-driving type of automobile or a quasi-driving type of motorcycle for the first time.
Score of 36 points or more Add subject 2 exam 1 + subject 2 + subject 3
【Old】The driver is deducted 12 points during the cycle, the driver's license is withheld, and the subject is retaken for subject 1; more than 24 points are deducted, and the retake of subjects 1 and 3.
【New】Motor vehicle drivers who have accumulated 12 points or accumulated 36 points more than 3 times in a scoring cycle shall make an appointment to participate in the venue driving skills (subject 2) and road driving skills examination (subject 3) in accordance with the provisions of articles 43 and 44 of the "Regulations on the Application and Use of Motor Vehicle Driving Licenses" after passing the road traffic safety laws, regulations and related knowledge examinations.
3 changes to the Class C driver's license test
Additional driving test: Fewer subjects
When C2 increases C1, only subjects 2 and 3 need to be tested, and the theoretical knowledge of subjects 1 and 4 is no longer tested.
In addition, in addition to other driver's license additions, it has also been re-adjusted and simplified:
Reduction of subject 2 examination items
The C2 exam deletes "ramp fixed-point parking and starting" and only retains "reversing into storage, side parking, curved driving, and right-angle turning". The C1 exam items remain unchanged.
Increase the punishment for taking exams in place of others
For those who hold a driver's license, if they find that they have taken the test in place of others, they will directly cancel the driver's license; for those who have not yet held a driver's license, if there is a substitute test for others within three years, they will not be allowed to apply for a motor vehicle driving license.
2 increase in those over 70 years old
In 2020, the traffic management department abolished the upper age limit of 70 years old for applying for a small car C1, a small automatic car C2, and a moped F driver's license. However, in addition to the normal physical examination items, two conditions have been added for people over the age of 70:
Memory, judgment, reaction and other ability tests;
In the event of an accident resulting in serious injury/death of a person, participate in the examination.
