Previously, the utilization rate of several old buildings under the jurisdiction of Rainbow Street, such as No. 1 and No. 37 Yongji, Xiaoqiao, Xihua Road, was low, and safety risks such as illegal leasing and fire protection were prominent. With the strong support of the Party Working Committee of Rainbow Street, Guangzhou Convergence Apartment Management Co., Ltd. was introduced for re-planning, and the original old building became a dynamic urban youth community integrating business, residence, life services, entertainment, leisure and social interaction - Fang Gezhi Apartment.
The young people living in Fang Gezhi Apartment come from all over the world and belong to a typical mixed-use community. In order to comprehensively build a social governance pattern of "prohibition and demand" party building to lead co-construction, co-governance and sharing, the Party Working Committee of Rainbow Street adheres to the basic requirements of governance innovation and service intentions, deeply excavates the needs of apartment youth, effectively integrates the resources of the jurisdiction, sets up a party branch in Fang Gezhi Apartment, builds a "Fusion Home" party group service station, and creates a "Fusion Home" party building brand with party building as the core and allows new citizens to integrate from "heart" into the local "Fusion Home" party building brand.

Promote the installation of elevators in old buildings
Rainbow Street in the old town is dotted with old buildings built in the 1980s and 1990s, and there are many elderly people who are inconvenient to go up and down the stairs. To successfully install an elevator in the old building, it is necessary to obtain the consent of most of the residents in the building, and to obtain the approval of planning, construction, fire protection, safety supervision and other departments, and the difficulty of communication, coordination and promotion can be imagined.
The progress of the construction of the "100,000 ladders and 100,000 people party flag red" old building installation elevator secretary project was announced.
Since 2017, Rainbow Street has set up a leading group for the installation of elevators and formulated the "Work Plan for The Installation of Elevators in Old Buildings on Rainbow Street". At the same time, the leaders of the street party working committee and the office contacted the 11 community neighborhood committees under their jurisdiction to guide and urge the community neighborhood committees to promote the installation of elevators, publicize the policy of elevator installation in old buildings, collect basic information, understand social conditions and public opinions, resolve contradictions and disputes, and coordinate the resolution of practical work difficulties.
In May 2017, under the support and guidance of the Street Party Working Committee, Rainbow Street promoted the installation of elevators in old buildings (commonly known as "glass houses") to be established, and two volunteers will be on duty every Monday to Friday, providing free venues and arranging staff of relevant departments to carry out dispute coordination meetings for owners.

In recent years, the successful installation of elevators on Rainbow Street and the mode of resolving disputes have attracted social attention, and many neighbors who encounter the problem of installing elevators in old buildings will go to the glass house for consultation. On this day, Uncle Yan, who lives in Baiyun District, went to ask for help, and volunteer Dong Yide took out a policy document full of notes, patiently and meticulously explained to Uncle Yan, and put forward his own suggestions.
According to the survey, there are about 159 buildings in the jurisdiction of Rainbow Street that meet the current conditions for installing elevators. Up to now, Rainbow Street has 157 residential elevators announced before the approval, 145 have obtained construction planning permits, and 111 elevators have been successfully installed, accounting for 69.8% of the total number of residential buildings that meet the conditions for installing elevators, accounting for 36.1% of the total number of existing residential buildings with 7 to 9 floors without elevators.
At present, the street party working committee is actively coordinating and promoting the installation of elevators in the remaining old buildings under its jurisdiction, hoping that in the near future, buildings with conditions for elevator installation can be installed with "happiness ladders", and the successful experience and management mode of installing elevators in old buildings can be promoted to the whole district and even the whole city.

At present, the function of the glass house has ushered in "transformation and upgrading", not only the installation of elevator work service stations in old buildings, but also the conference room for grass-roots management of residents. Rainbow Street holds people's sentiment councils and dispute mediation meetings here from time to time, and listens to people's feelings and public opinions by distributing propaganda leaflets and work guidelines, accepting residents' consultations, collecting opinions and suggestions, and effectively solves the needs of people's livelihood.
Representatives of community residents specially customized the pennant to be delivered to the streets and communities, thanking the staff for their help and support in promoting the implementation of the secondary water supply project.
Stone Roadbed Nos. 3, 5, 7 and 9 are four townhouses that were put into use in the early 1990s and have been in use for more than 20 years. The residential building has been supplying water using water tanks, and the problem of insufficient water pressure has always plagued residents. As the pipes age, the water quality is getting worse and worse, which has a great impact on the quality of life of residents.
In order to allow residents to use high-quality, safe and secure water, in early 2021, with the strong support of the street office, the secondary water supply renovation project of the above buildings was officially launched. At that time, many residents did not agree to the construction due to the location of the pump house and the fear of noise, and the project was shelved. After carrying out door-to-door visits, opinion collection, information feedback and other work for residents, the street communicated with relevant departments to finally determine the transformation plan and smoothly advanced the construction. At the end of October 2021, the project was officially put into use.
"As early as 2019, seeing news reports that Guangzhou will carry out secondary water supply transformation, we began to look forward to using clean water and assured water, and now this wish has finally come true!" Resident Uncle Wang said happily.
It is understood that as of now, the secondary water supply transformation of more than 1,000 households has been completed.
