The Chinese market is huge! F1 announces 2021 season viewership stats: 1.55 billion views

On February 17, F1 officially released the relevant viewership data for the 2021 season.

According to the data, the cumulative TV viewers in the 2021 season were 1.55 billion, an increase of 4% compared with the 2020 season; the average number of TV viewers per Grand Prix in the 2021 season was 70.3 million; the final F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix attracted 108.7 million viewers worldwide, which was the largest number of TV viewers in the whole year, an increase of 29% compared with the 2020 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix; in several key markets, the Netherlands' cumulative audience increased by 81% year-on-year, the United States +58%, France +48%, and France +48%. Italy +40%, Uk +39%; 445 million independent spectators in the 2021 season, of which China is the largest market for independent viewers, with 70.8 million independent viewers (an increase of 13% compared to the 2020 season);

At the same time, F1 officials also released last season's social media data: in 2021, F1 once again became the world's fastest growing major sports event; in 2021, F1's total number of fans on major social media platforms around the world increased by 40% to 49.1 million; social media video views increased by 50% to 7 billion times; total interactions increased by 74% to 1.5 billion times; and the total number of fans on Chinese social media platforms reached 2.7 million, an increase of 39%.
