Sometime in 2014, an appraisal agency in the United States received an email with photos of a very rare set of beveled woodworking table tongs produced by La Forge Royale.

Founded in 1849, the La Forge Royale was founded in Paris near the Seine and Marnes-Montéry. I don't know where this is, the road is too far for a bike to ride. Around 1900, 50 years after the factory's founding, the successor renamed the factory Les Établissements LEMAINQUE, with the trademark being a lion holding a sign with the word LB written on it.

Appraisal agencies in the United States obtained all images of the company's products in the catalog of the Midwest Tool Collectors Association in the 1980s, including the table tongs. I also found an electronic version of the book, and I needed a friend to reply to the word "table tongs" in the background to get a download link.

This table tong can be pressed by a table dog or clamped to a carpentry table tong. Its biggest advantage is two points, one is that it can accurately handle the 45-degree bevel angle (Figure 3-5); the other is that it can clamp the wooden board vertically, which is more convenient for processing. The screw of the table tongs is wooden, and there is a horizontal handle at the handle, which can be stuck on the straight handle for easier force (Figure 7). There is also a hidden hook somewhere in the pliers, which, once hooked, pulls back to a smaller piece of wood on the top block (Fig. 8) to handle the smaller workpiece.
