Yangcheng Evening News: Judging from the plot of the "Big Third Line" and the scenes in the play, the shooting conditions of "The Fiery Red Years" are very difficult. What was your original intention in participating in this play?

Lin Jiangguo: First of all, the theme is the attraction, I have heard the story of the "big third line" for a long time, but I have not deeply understood it. After arriving at Panzhihua, I learned that this was a city from scratch - at the beginning, Pangang was a nongnping that covered an area of only 2.5 square kilometers, and through the efforts of the builders, it slowly developed into a heroic city. How did the builders build the "Great Third Line" and how did they build this heroic city? It made me curious, so I wanted to come and get involved. In addition, before I entered the industry, I had watched the TV series directed by Wang Wenjie, and I wanted to cooperate with such a famous director to realize a wish I had at the beginning of the industry.

Yangcheng Evening News: In the play, Xia Fangzhou is not only a genius engineer with the strongest brain, but also has a very personality. From refusing to go to the "third line" of dedication, how to interpret the growth and ideological transformation of this character?

Lin Jiangguo: Xia Fangzhou is very confident in himself and very talented, and he wants to use his good material in the largest steel city in the country, such as Wuhan, so he does not want to come to the third line, which is completely understandable normal human thinking.

However, the other characters in the play create a big environment, and the growth of Xia Fangzhou is stimulated and stimulated by the environment and the people around them. Thanks to the conscientious script, this character shift is well laid out in the plot, and the actors just naturally follow the action.

Yangcheng Evening News: Xia Fangzhou is a metallurgical engineer, and there are many technical terms in the play. Did you deliberately do your homework on professional knowledge before filming?

Lin Jiangguo: Yes, I went to check some information in this regard, and also consulted some people. But then I realized that this homework may not really work. Because metallurgical construction is really a thing that is too professional. For myself, those theories and nouns are like the book of heaven, and I can't understand them when others explain them to me (laughs).

Yangcheng Evening News: Does this add difficulty to the performance?

Lin Jiangguo: It is really very difficult. For example, when I was filming "Lovely China" before, the director asked me to add a word to a certain scene, and I might just come casually. But lines like Xia Fangzhou's cannot be played on the spot, and you must memorize some professional terms by rote. And whether you understand it or not, you have to memorize it verbatim, and it really takes more time.

Yangcheng Evening News: Is there anything similar about this role to you?

Lin Jiangguo: Xia Fangzhou and I are basically "contrary to each other", for example, he will feel that the ultimate beauty is the beauty of mathematics, and they are born to do this. But for a science blind like me, I can't fully understand it (laughs). In addition, he is a very "shaft" person, when he wants to delve into something, he must be drilling to death. This has made his career a success, but also caused him emotional twists and turns. And I'm not going to be that axis.

Crying without sending is more powerful

Yangcheng Evening News: As a 77-year-old person, there is a generation gap in your age and plot. How do you grasp the breath and pulse of that era?

Lin Jiangguo: Usually, I personally prefer some historical books and some period novels. When I was filmed in the group, I settled down in panzhihua city and filmed on the spot for more than three months, many of the props in the play were collected from the homes of locals, and in it, I naturally felt more deeply that "the construction of the third line is really remarkable". The shooting atmosphere is there, the emotions are mobilized, and the story in the play can naturally be interpreted better.

Yangcheng Evening News: In addition to the career drama, the feelings between Xia Fangzhou and Qin Xiaodan, Li Xinmei and Qiao Jiali in the play have also added a lot of points to this drama, how to evaluate Xia Fangzhou's emotional road?

Lin Jiangguo: There is no need to doubt his feelings for Qin Xiaodan, there is a saying called "a glance of ten thousand years". But because he is a tendon, there are many misunderstandings between the two. His focus on his career has led to his emotional aspects, he has been in a very passive situation, he actually does not understand women, in summary, is "a wooden difficult love road."

Yangcheng Evening News: During the filming process, which scene and which scene impressed you the most? Makes you have the greatest emotional touch?

Lin Jiangguo: The departure of many characters in the play, the death of Li Xinmei, the sacrifice of Guangfu and Tinglan, I think it is very touching. Although it is said that when the "Great Third Line" was built, it was already a peaceful period, but our builders still faced a lot of parting pain and bloody sacrifices.

Yangcheng Evening News: Before shooting these scenes, will you be prepared for crying in advance?

Lin Jiangguo: As long as the actors are involved in the plot, what they can do is what they are. Sometimes crying is not necessarily good, but it will be more advanced, crying or not crying, and how far it is crying depends on the specific situation.

Excellent film and television works have a sense of home and country

Yangcheng Evening News: Director Wang Wenjie is from Mountain Shadow, how does it feel to cooperate with him?

Lin Jiangguo: I think he is particularly like the kind of hero in martial arts novels, Shandong Han, especially bold. At the same time, he is also a very interesting person, likes to joke, and he is also very passionate on the shooting scene. And he has a lot of respect for actors, "you have any good ideas you can try to put in", he does not limit you.

Yangcheng Evening News: What do you think young audiences can learn from Xia Fangzhou's life experience? How do you see his gains and losses?

Lin Jiangguo: Sometimes people's fate is really beyond their control, and when you choose one thing, you will definitely miss another. Whether it is worth it or not depends on your original intention. For a builder, Xia Fangzhou has devoted his life to the field he loves and is good at, making efforts for the construction of the motherland and benefiting the people. Therefore, when looking back on his life, he still feels lucky and happy.

I think that young people should learn this kind of persistence in their careers from Xia Fangzhou, which is really crucial.

Yangcheng Evening News: Many viewers still have filters for Situ Jiannan in "Princess Diao Man" played by you, but over the years, you have focused on realist dramas such as "The Great Pastoral Song", "The Hero Comes Out of the River", "The Middle Stream Hits the Water", "The Fiery Red Years" and so on, where is the charm of such dramas?

Lin Jiangguo: Frankly speaking, filming "Diao Man Princess" is actually not too hard, because I am not tired, everyone is amused every day, and then the day passes. Realism may be more deep into your own heart, you have to spend a lot of time to consult the materials, consult history, research how to go deep into the characters, time will spend more, but also more sense of achievement.

Yangcheng Evening News: What commonalities do you think a good film and television work needs to have?

Lin Jiangguo: I think that excellent film and television works, fundamentally speaking, have a sense of home and country. The excellent costume drama "Daming Dynasty 1566" and "Hai Rui Dismissal" needless to say, it is about the feelings of home and country. Even if it is a Jin Yong martial arts drama based on fictional history, "The Legend of the Eagle Shooter" is also about "the great hero, for the country and the people", and the seemingly hip-hop "Deer DingJi" actually contains "benevolence" and "patriotism".
