Zhao Zhiqing, Guo Yujie, Geng Yanhong, Hu Nianjia and Wang Wei, five disabled athletes from our city, were qualified for the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games and were officially selected into the list of the Chinese sports delegation to the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games.
Zhao Zhiqing, a native of Huai'an County, is a national athlete for the disabled cross-country skiing and biathlon teams. Won the 10.4 km traditional technology and women's sprint (traditional technology) of the 11th National Paralympic Games cross-country skiing points competition in 2021, the runner-up in women's racing (free technology) 1.3 km, the runner-up in 6.5 km in biathlon LW5/7, the third place in women's 10 km in cross-country skiing at the 2021 Paralympic Nordic Skiing European Championships, and the fourth place in women's 6 km in biathlon.
Guo Yujie, a native of Shangyi County, is a national athlete for the disabled cross-country skiing and biathlon teams. 2021 National Paracross Skiing and Biathlon Games Cross-Country Skiing Women's Long Distance Tradition 10.4 km Runner-up, Women's Middle Distance Tradition 5.2 km Runner-up, Women's Sprint Freedom 1.3 km Champion, Biathlon Women's Long Distance 13 km Runner-up, Women's Middle Distance 6.5 km Champion, Women's Sprint 3.9 km Champion, 2021 Paralympic Nordic Skiing European Championships Cross-Country Skiing Station Position Women's 10 km Sixth Place, Biathlon Women's 6 km Third Place.
Geng Yanhong, a native of Wei County, is a member of the National Snowboard Team for the Disabled. Won the third place in the 11th National Paralympic Games snowboard slope slalom competition in 2021, the champion of the snowboard slalom chase, and the runner-up in the women's LL2 snowboard slope slalom event of the 2022 World Para snowboard world cup.
Hu Nianjia, a native of Shangyi County, is an athlete of the National Paralympic SnowboardIng Team. Won the 2021 National 11th Paralympic Games Slope Slalom Champion, Obstacle Course Pursuit Champion, 2022 World Para snowboarding World Cup Women's LL2 level snowboard slope slalom project runner-up.
Wang Wei, a native of Chongli District, is a goalkeeper of the national paralympic ice hockey team. Winner of the 2021 National Paralympic Games Paralympic Ice Hockey Tournament Runner-up And 2021 Swedish Paralympic Ice Hockey World Championship Group B Champion.
In recent years, these 5 players have achieved excellent results in various international and domestic competitions, and they are currently going all out to prepare for the Beijing 2022 Winter Paralympic Games, and strive to win glory for the country and add color to their hometown with excellent results in the competition.
It is reported that the Beijing Winter Paralympic Games will be held from March 4 to 13, with a total of 6 major events and 78 minor events. The six major events are Paralympic Alpine Skiing, Paralympic Biathlon, Paralympic Cross-Country Skiing, Paralympic Snowboarding, Paralympic Ice Hockey and Wheelchair Curling.
