Andre Iguodala lashed out at those who believe Kyrie Irving is not in the NBA's top 75

Kyrie Owen

The 2021-22 NBA means a lot to the league as a whole. The league is celebrating its 75th anniversary and has a lot planned to honor the players who made it possible. One such thing is the list of the top 75 players in the NBA in history.

Previously, the list of the top 25 players who entered the NBA's Round of 75 was announced, followed by the release of the list of the last 25 players. But in both parts, Brooklyn Nets superstar Kyrie Irving was absent. While the third group of players has yet to be announced, many believe Thatri doesn't deserve to be selected either.

This may be due to the recent drama caused by Owen's stance on vaccinations. Since Owen denied getting the vaccine and just sat at home, he was strongly opposed. But that doesn't mean the 29-year-old is a bad player.

If anything, he's one of the best players of modern times. Golden State Warriors player Andre Iguodala thinks the same thing, defending Carey on Twitter.

"So you all say @KyrieIrving aren't they in the top 75?" I agree...... He's at least in the top 20..."

Iggy's inclusion of Irving in the NBA's top 20 list may be a bit of an exaggeration. No intention of offending Carey's game, he's an amazing player and one of the most talented basket players we've ever seen. But what matters is how he uses it.

Since leaving the shadow of LeBron James and deciding to lead his own team, Carey has struggled to achieve the success he craves. He tried his luck with the Boston Celtics but failed.

Currently, he's playing for the Nets, but he's not alone. With two other superstars like Kevin Durant and James Harden, the job becomes pretty easy.

Still, he should at least be on the NBA's Top 75 list. He deserves this recognition. After all, whether it was the first choice or not, he still won the NBA championship. The 2016 NBA Finals were bad for him and the Cavaliers.

Maybe when the third batch of players comes out, we will see his name on the list? One can only hope.
