The Audi A8/A8L has a total of 5 engines to choose from, the 3.0T engine has a maximum power of 250 kW and a peak torque of 500 Nm; 210 kW for the Chinese market. The 4.0T V8 engine has a maximum power of 338 kW, a peak torque of 660 Nm, an acceleration time of 4.4 seconds per 100 km/h, and a closed cylinder function.
The 3.0TDI diesel engine has a maximum power of 210 kW, a peak torque of 600 Nm and an acceleration time of 5.9 seconds per 100 km/h. There is also a plug-in hybrid model with a battery capacity of 17.9 kWh, a system combined power of 340 kW, a peak torque of 700 Nm, and an acceleration time of 4.9 seconds per 100 km/h.
The Audi S8 is powered by a V8 twin-turbo engine and a 48V hybrid system with a maximum power of 420 kW, a peak torque of 800 Nm and an acceleration time of 3.8 seconds per 100 km/h; it is only available in some markets such as China.
