To achieve "slow refueling, light deceleration, slow turning",
Reduce the speed, keep your distance and drive with caution!
Tips for driving safely on snowy days
1. Check the vehicle configuration
Rain, snow and fog wet road slippery, braking distance becomes longer, regularly check the wear of tires, there are problems in time to replace. Excessive tire wear, easy to form a water film on the tread and water surface, resulting in the car running away, tail fling and braking distance is longer, so it is safer to maintain a high tire pressure in rainy days.
Wiper is best to change once a year, if the wiper's water sweeping ability declines, the driving line of sight on rainy days will be more blurred, especially when driving at high speed, the wiper blade floats upwards, and the water sweeping ability is worse.
Regularly check whether the drainage of the waterproof groove at the front windshield is unsmooth to avoid water ingress into the engine caused by water accumulation on rainy days and prevent short circuits in the on-board computer.
2. Maintain a good field of vision
Driving on the road on rain and snow days, in addition to turning on the wiper in time, when the weather is dark, you should also turn on the low beam and anti-fog lights. If there is frost in the front windshield, it is necessary to open the cold air so that it blows the front windshield; if the rear windshield has frost, open the rear windshield heater to eliminate the frost as soon as possible so as not to see the vehicle behind.
3. Slow brake
When the distance between the car and the front car is shortening, do not step on it, if you feel that the wheel is locked, immediately release the brake pedal and then step on, the brake is mainly point brake, lightly step on the light lift.
4. Drive slowly
Vehicle speed in the driving process to be slow, ice and snow road wheels are easy to slip, driving danger increases, in order to ensure safety, the speed of driving should be stable, to avoid violent acceleration or violent braking, when it is necessary to accelerate or decelerate, the throttle should be slowly stepped down or released, in order to prevent the drive wheel from slipping due to sudden acceleration or deceleration.
5. Pull the distance
Ice and snow ground resistance is very small, only a quarter of the dry asphalt pavement, so the driving distance is 4-5 times greater than the dry asphalt pavement, and the distance with the car is too close, it is difficult to brake the car at a short distance, which is easy to cause rear-end accidents.
6. Slow turning
Before turning, we must reduce the gear and speed down in advance, pass slowly, after the speed is reduced, we must take the method of turning a big turn and taking a slow turn, and do not turn the direction sharply.
7, pay attention to fog lights, headlights cautious use
In order to keep the line of sight clear, if it is not a foggy day, try not to turn on fog lights and headlights. If you are driving when it is snowing heavily and the visibility is very low, you must remember to turn on the fog lights and slow down at the same time.
8, do not desert, phone calls, etc
Driving on snow days requires more concentration, use God, must maintain sufficient energy to travel, at the same time, in the driving process try not to desert, such as listening to music, telephone, etc., are very unsafe.
9. Correctly remove fog and keep the line of sight clear
Rain and snow weather, the temperature difference is large. When the window temperature is lower than the dew point temperature, a fog is formed on the surface of the window. Master the method of defogging to ensure driving safety.
(1) Adjust the air conditioner to warm air mode, the temperature is maintained at 25 ° C, and the air conditioner outlet is aligned with the window. At this time, the warm air will increase the surface temperature of the window, reduce the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the window, accelerate the surface wind speed of the liquid, and disperse the fog. This method is thorough in removing fog, but the process is slower, lasts 3-5 minutes, and is suitable for use before driving or when parking.
(2) Open the window, sunroof or air conditioning refrigeration to reduce the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the car, and quickly achieve the effect of defogging. But after turning off the air conditioning cooling or car windows, the fog will reappear. This method is only suitable for short-distance driving or emergency treatment of fogging windows during driving.
(3) One-button defogging, after opening the button, the air conditioner placed at the bottom of the window will blow air against the glass, and the defogging speed is faster.
Traveling on rainy and snowy days "three notes":
"Slow refueling, slow down, slow turning"
1.
Slow down
When starting and accelerating, the refueling should be light and slow to prevent tire slippage and skidding. Too much fueling will make the driving force of the vehicle greater than the adhesion of the road surface, resulting in idling of the driving wheels and the lateral offset of the vehicle. Therefore, the throttle must be well controlled so that the driving force is less than the adhesion of the road surface, so as to avoid or reduce the occurrence of slippage and lateral slippage.
2.
Gently slow down.
When decelerating, it is necessary to make full use of the resistance of the engine to decelerate, that is, to quickly release the throttle without disengagement and without stepping on the clutch, so that the engine speed drops immediately, forcing the drive wheel speed to decrease, and slowing down the vehicle. If you need to use the brake to stop, you must also use the engine brake to reduce the speed of the car, and then gently press the brake. Emergency braking is absolutely prohibited on snow and ice roads to prevent the vehicle from sliding. Cars without ABS should pay special attention to prevent side slippage. Stop the car to try to choose a clearing without ice and snow, tighten the handbrake suspension gear, and if necessary, pad the wheels.
3.
Turn slowly.
When turning, be sure to slow down first, increase the turning radius appropriately and slow down the steering wheel. The operation of the steering wheel should be smooth and gentle, otherwise it will also slide sideways, so that the rear of the car is thrown outward (tail flick). The reason for the lateral slippage caused by the turning is due to excessive steering, the steering wheel is deflected laterally, resulting in a sudden increase in the front resistance of the vehicle, and the tail is thrown outward under the action of inertia. Once a side slip occurs, it can be lifted by means of an appropriate return wheel.
