As we all know, magnetic resonance examination has strict contraindications, especially ferromagnetic substances, which are prone to ejection and cause certain injuries. Common objects that cause inter-magnet projectiles include forceps, stethoscopes, pins, scissors, nail clippers, keys, coins, watches, lighters, cell phones, hearing aids, metal jewelry, hairpins, stretchers, wheelchairs, and oxygen cylinders. The most common in the author's actual work is coins, followed by keys, watches, mobile phones, etc.
The above ferromagnetic substances are more attention to everyone and will inform the subject to remove. But in practice, there are two types of items that are most easily overlooked: one is jade products; the other is paper money.
1. Jade products
Jade products are commonly found in bracelets, pendants, etc., and such substances are generally easy to ignore. Of course, jade products generally do not cause harm to the human body, but due to the various metal minerals in it, it will have a great impact on the image, and to a certain extent, it will be hot, perhaps causing certain burns!
When the subject underwent MR examination of the lumbar spine, there was an obvious burn on the neck, and the coil was not damaged after examination, and the initial suspicion was that it was caused by jade products.
2. Paper money
Steel hammers are ferromagnetic, which is strictly taboo, but what about paper money? Take a look at the picture below:
The picture above shows that when the left shoulder joint is performed for MRI scan, fat suppression is uneven in the axial and coronal positions. After inspection, it was found that the subject had 50 yuan and 100 yuan banknotes in his jacket pocket. The image after removing the banknotes is as follows:
In the above figure, fat inhibition is relatively uniform.
Through the above image comparison, it can be found that the wire wires in the banknote also have an impact on the uniformity of the magnetic field.
After today, everyone can boldly say to the subjects that paper money is not enough! Pull it all out! Can't bring it in!
