Hualong Network - New Chongqing Client February 12, 21 news (intern Wang Xurui reporter Wu Lifan) On February 13, 15:00, the Beijing Winter Olympics cross-country skiing men's 4X10 km relay competition will be held in Zhangjiakou Division, Chongqing athlete Wang Qiang and three teammates to represent the Chinese team.

Wang Qiang, Chongqing's first athlete to appear at the Winter Olympics, performed well in the men's individual sprint race on cross-country skiing on February 8, qualifying for the knockout round with a time of 2:48.91, becoming the only non-seeded player among the top 16 players. Although ruled fouled out in the quarterfinals, Wang Qiang has broken through the history of Chongqing Ice and Snow Sports and the Chinese team in the project. After the game, Wang Qiang apologized to the supporters on his personal Weibo and said that he would strive to perform better in the future competition.

Cross-country skiing is known as a "snow marathon", and runners need to use mountaineering, downhill, turning, sliding and other techniques to complete a long trek on the snowfield of the mountain. In the relay race, each team has four athletes, the first two must use traditional techniques to skate, and the next two must use free techniques. The race is a group race, with relays between runners similar to team racing, with the team being the first of the fourth runners to cross the finish line winning.

Although cross-country skiing started late in the mainland, the foundation is weak, and there is still a gap with Europe and the United States, but this year's Chinese team has made a very big breakthrough in cross-country skiing events, in addition to Wang Qiang's excellent performance in the personal event, in the cross-country skiing women's 4×5 km relay final on February 12, the Chinese team won the tenth place with 57 minutes 49.7 seconds, creating the best record in the history of China's cross-country skiing relay event Winter Olympics. Therefore, we also have reason to expect the Chinese men's team to achieve good results in tomorrow's relay race.

In addition to the men's 4X10 km relay race at 15:00 pm tomorrow, Wang Qiang will also participate in the men's team sprint at 18:00 pm on February 16 and the men's 50 km collective departure at 14:00 pm on February 19, cheering on Chongqing athletes!
