In recent years, autonomous driving has taken the world by storm, but fatalities due to traffic accidents occur from time to time. The key is that a single perception technology cannot meet the all-weather full-working conditions of autonomous vehicles, and cannot cope with unexpected situations under complex road conditions, resulting in frequent accidents, which puts forward higher requirements for sensors.
Multi-sensor fusion perception is an inevitable requirement for improving the safety of autonomous vehicles. Using ultrasonic, vision and other types of low-cost sensors and their fusion technology, it overcomes the perception limitations of a single sensor and becomes the mainstream direction of the next generation of perception systems.
At present, the research of self-owned brand cars in the integration of multiple sensors for autonomous driving is relatively lagging behind, and the existing technology has problems such as low accuracy, high rate of missed detection and misexamine, inefficient integration and insufficient real-time of algorithms.
