In order to continuously enhance the team's combat effectiveness, Shenzhen Football Club decided after discussion and consultation with the relevant departments, shareholders and strategic partners of the city to hire Mr. Lee Jang-soo as the head coach of the first team.

Born 15 October 1956 in South Korea, Lee Jang-so is a professional footballer who played for Daewoo, Army and Yogong Elephants. He made 9 appearances for the South Korean national team and scored one goal.

After retiring in 1986, Mr. Lee Jang-so coached at The University of Gwangju, South Korea, and in 1988, he joined Ichiwa Tenma as an assistant coach, helping the team achieve a three-time top-flight championship. In 1994, he became the head coach of Ichiwa Tenma and led the team to the top flight, the Asian Club Cup, the Asian Super League and the Asian-African Confrontation. In 1997, Mr. Lee Jang-so studied in Brazil and subsequently served as a member of the Technical Committee of the Korean Football Association. In 1998, he came to China to coach and led the avant-garde Huandao and Qingdao Berlet to win the FA Cup. From 2004 to 2009, he coached South Korean teams Jeonnam Denon, Seoul FC and Chinese team Beijing Guoan. From 2010 to 2012, Mr. Lee Chang-so led Guangzhou Evergrande to win the China League One Championship, the Chinese Super League Championship and the China Super Cup. Since then, he has also coached Chengdu Tiancheng, Changchun Yatai and other teams.

Mr. Lee Jang-so is known for his strictness and is nicknamed "Iron Marshal". He has served as the head coach of Chinese teams for many times, is familiar with the Chinese football environment, and has rich experience. It is believed that Mr. Li Zhangsu and his coaching team can further stimulate the potential of The Shenzhen team members, enhance the combat effectiveness of the whole team, and achieve good results in various competitions.
