| The Winter Olympics, can Vallieva still compete?

On the morning of February 11, Vallieva, a women's single skater from the Russian Olympic Committee delegation, left the training ground alone after the training. In the past few days, the negative news surrounding Valieva has been continuous. The cause of the incident stemmed from a doping test result. Kbo participated in the Russian Figure Skating Championships last December, and the Russian Doping Agency (RUSADA) conducted anti-doping tests on the competition as usual. As a result, in the test results released on February 8, the inspectors found trace amounts of the banned drugs from the samples they collected. For the detection of illegal drugs, the International Skating Federation also confirmed it in the relevant statement on the 11th.

On the evening of the 8th, RUSADA made a decision to temporarily suspend Vallieva, which also meant that she would not be able to participate in the next women's single skating competition at the Beijing Winter Olympics. A day later, Valieva appealed to RUSADA and a hearing was held on the same day. That night, RUSADA decided to lift Vallieva's temporary ban and allow her to continue to participate in the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Why did RUSADA lift the ban? In this regard, The former director general of RUSADA, sports lawyer Anna Antlinovic revealed that it is mainly because the contestant's lawyer can prove that the positive test result is most likely due to the contamination of the sample.

At the same time, the Russian Olympic Committee said that in addition to the Russian Championships, Vallieva had no problems with testing from the beginning of the European Championships to the Winter Olympics. Subsequently, the Russian Figure Skating Association also issued a statement saying that it would not doubt the honesty and cleanliness of its own players and would make every effort to clarify what happened.

But in any case, the detection of banned drugs in the test is a fact, based on such a premise, the International Olympic Committee also issued a statement on the afternoon of the 11th, saying that it will appeal rusada's decision, and the case will be heard by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

It is reported that CAS will hold an emergency hearing to determine whether Vallieva can participate in the women's figure skating competition of the Winter Olympics on February 15. But in the current situation, K Bao can still train and participate in competitions without restrictions.
