Chongli, Hebei, 10 Feb (Xinhua) -- On the afternoon of 10 February, the women's 10 km (traditional technology) competition in cross-country skiing at the Beijing Winter Olympics was held at the National Cross-Country Skiing Center. Tør hauge from Norway narrowly defeated Finn Keltu Niskanen in the second half to win his second individual gold medal at the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Johog finished in 28:06.3, and she narrowly defeated Niskanen by a narrow margin of 0.4 seconds, while Krista Palmakowski, also from Finland, won the bronze medal with a time of 28:37.8.

A total of 98 athletes participated in the competition, one departing every 30 seconds. At first, Niskanen pressed against Hauge, taking a 10.1-second lead at one point at the 6.8 km time point. However, the Norwegian then began to exert force, quickly smoothing out the gap and then hitting the line first.

Since the women's 10 km of cross-country skiing was re-included in the official Winter Olympics in 2002, Norway has won at least one medal in the event at six consecutive Winter Olympics.

In terms of the four Chinese athletes, Chi Chunxue, who performed best, ranked 39th, while Li Xin, Ma Qinghua and Diniger Yilamujiang ranked 45th, 50th and 56th respectively.

On the 11th, the National Cross-Country Ski Center will compete for the men's 15 km (traditional technique). (End)
