Recently, the Mascot of the Beijing Winter Olympics, "Ice Pier", has become the new "top stream". "Did you grab the ice pier?" It has become a greeting for many people to meet in the Year of the Tiger. If you fuse paper-cutting and the Elements of the Winter Olympics, what kind of sparks will collide? A pair of scissors, a piece of red paper, and the cute "ice pier" and "snow rongrong" were born in the hands of He Weiwei, a paper-cutting artist in Fengxiang District.

He Weiwei cut a total of four shapes, he introduced, the paper-cut version of the "ice pier" and the flat painting version of the "ice pier" or a certain difference, paper cutting needs to pay attention to the connection of each part, some light and dark treatment. "For example, the 'ice pier' is black and white, but the paper cut is shown in red, so most of the white body shown by the paper cut is hollow, the arms and legs, which are originally black, are represented by reality, and other places are hollowed out." The biggest difference is to pay attention to the place of the connection, when painting the eyes can be roughly painted in the middle position, but the paper cut should pay attention to its nose, mouth, and eye connection, must consider that it is a complete work. ”
"My grandmother was a skilled rural woman, and she could also make very beautiful Fengxiang special flower buns that tested her craftsmanship very much. Influenced by my grandmother, I was very interested in paper-cutting since I was a child. He Wei said that because of the influence of his family since childhood, he also began to have a strong interest in art, and in 2002, he was admitted to the art education major of Baoji Normal School, and after graduation, he traveled to many cities and engaged in many industries, but he always felt that it was not what he pursued. After appreciating the cultural characteristics of various regions, He Wei returned to his hometown Fengxiang and resolutely picked up scissors to engage in paper-cutting art.
"The hosting of the Beijing Winter Olympics is exciting, and as a folk paper-cutting artist, I hope to show the 'ice pier' and 'snow rongrong' through paper-cutting, carry forward the Olympic spirit, and cheer for the Olympic athletes!" He Weiwei said that Fengxiang's paper-cutting is mostly fish, birds and flowers, and most people's impression of paper-cutting is still stuck in the window flower. In order to distinguish it from the traditional paper-cutting and make everyone more interested in paper-cutting, he also followed the social hotspots in the design of paper-cutting, and created more and more paper-cut works with a sense of modernity and the sense of the times.
