According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Citigroup (C.US) filed its position holdings for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2021 (13F).

According to statistics, the total market value of Citigroup's positions in the fourth quarter reached 186.694 billion US dollars, and the total market value of the previous quarter was 169.311 billion US dollars, an increase of 10.27% from the previous quarter. Citigroup added 536 new stocks to its portfolio in the fourth quarter and added 2,974 stocks. At the same time, Citigroup also reduced its holdings of 1782 individual stocks and liquidated 474 individual stocks. Among them, the top ten position targets accounted for 24.65% of the total market capitalization.

Among the top five heavy stocks, nasdaq 100 ETF put options ranked first, with 17.6432 million shares and a market value of $7.019 billion, accounting for 3.76% of the portfolio, a decrease of 45% from the number of positions held in the previous quarter.

The S&P 500 put option ranked second with 14,017,600 shares and a market capitalization of $6,658 million, or 3.57% of the portfolio, an increase of 27% over the previous quarter.

iShare Russell 2000 Index ETF put options ranked third with approximately 25.6773 million shares and a market capitalization of $5.712 billion, or 3.06% of the portfolio, an increase of 114% from the number of positions held in the previous quarter.

iShares iBoxx High Yield Corporate Bond Index ETF Put Options and S&P 500 Index ETF ranked fourth and fifth respectively, with a market capitalization of about $5.295 billion and $5.117 billion, accounting for 2.84% and 2.74% of the portfolio, respectively.

From the perspective of changes in the proportion of positions, the top five buying targets are: iShare Russell 2000 Index ETF puts, iShares iBoxx High Yield Corporate Bond Index ETF puts, S&P 500 Index puts, Microsoft, Apple.

The top five selling targets are: NASDAQ 100 ETF Put, iShare Emerging Markets ETF Put (EEM.US, PUT), S&P 500 Call (SPY.US, CALL), NASDAQ 100 ETF (QQQ.US), Power Shares DWA Momentum Portfolio (PDP.US).

It is worth noting that Citi increased its holdings in large technology stocks such as "FAAMG" by 10%-40% in the fourth quarter, and Microsoft (MSFT.US) and Google C (GOOG.US) and Apple increased by 25%, 34% and 14% respectively. In addition, Citi also increased its holdings in Tesla (TSLA.US), a rate of 38%.

In terms of new positions, Citi also bought 2760.86 shares of Nu Holdings (NU.US) with a market capitalization of $259 million.
