▲The scene of coronary intervention surgery

Patient Ye Mou, female, 53 years old, was admitted to the hospital due to coronary heart disease; patient Chen Mou, male, 77 years old, was admitted to the hospital for acute myocardial infarction. Coronary angiography of two patients showed lesions in the left main trunk opening and the end of the left main trunk, respectively. In order to accurately assess the vascular lesions and ensure patient safety, the cardiology intervention team decided to carry out interventional treatment for the patient under the guidance of intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), after nearly four hours of hard work, IVUS preoperative examination suggested severe stenosis of the left trunk, heavy plaque load, after treatment IVUS assessed the disappearance of severe stenosis of the left trunk, the stent adherent was good, and the luminal area of the vascular canal increased from 3.82mm2 before surgery to 9.58mm2 after surgery, achieving the therapeutic effect.

IVUS technology is to do ultrasound examination in the heart vessels, which can more accurately determine the size of the effective lumen of the coronary artery, the nature of the atherosclerotic lesion and the degree of coronary artery stenosis. IVUS is a more accurate and intuitive imaging supplement than CAG, which can help doctors see the structure inside blood vessels, guide doctors to effectively and rationally use stents, and play an irreplaceable role in timely evaluation of stent effects and prognosis assessment of stents.

In recent years, coronary angiography has been the criterion for diagnosing coronary stenosis, but angiography can only reflect the contours of angioluminal contrast agent filling, and cannot accurately judge vulnerable plaques. The interventional team of the Department of Cardiology of Qijiang District People's Hospital successfully carried out intravascular ultrasound surgery, marking a new level of cardiovascular interventional treatment in Qijiang District, which will further benefit the majority of cardiovascular disease patients in the region.
