Vesa Pihanurmi is a renowned award-winning photography artist in Helsinki, Finland. He has published two fine art photography books and his work has been published and exhibited around the world. He was born in 1967.

"I'm trying to reveal an alternative perspective and artistic interpretation of the world around us. I don't just record through photography, but try to add something unexpected to reality in the field and post-processing. I hope my photos allow me to dig and discover the new things behind all the self-evident observations.

In everyday life, it is easy to fall into habits and routine mentalities and even routine emotional reactions. I'm always happiest when I succeed in surprising myself – both emotionally and intellectually. In photography, this usually means finding a point of view, perspective, detail, mystery, or explanation that I didn't even consider when I first approached a subject.

By taking pictures and then taking pictures, I try to find the basic elements in a scene that speak to me. My goal is to squeeze reality out of all the unnecessary things and focus only on the things that are important to me at a particular moment. Curiosity is everything! ”
