Chen Yuxiang, a native of Dali Bai, is a 21-year-old majoring in public service management at the School of Management of minzu University of China. In September last year, Chen Yuxiang learned that the school was selecting personnel for a major national event, so he took the initiative to sign up, hoping to be successfully selected.
Soon, Chen Yuxiang's enthusiasm paid off, and he received an interview notice. "I arrived at the interview site 15 minutes early, but because the interview went very quickly, it was my turn when I arrived at the scene, and I almost missed the interview." Chen Yuxiang recalled, "Because of the early interview, I was a little caught off guard, but I also calmed down quickly, after all, the opportunity is not easy, it is better to let go." Soon, Chen Yuxiang's second side also passed smoothly, "Later I learned that there were almost 300 people interviewed that day, and in the end only less than 100 people were left, and I was very glad that I could stay." After that, after three or four interviews, leaving fewer and fewer people, Chen Yuxiang was finally selected and began a four-month training period.
After the successful selection, in order to wear the most authentic Bai costume to stand at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, Chen Yuxiang's family specially customized the costume for him in Dali. For the best stage effect, he changed a total of 3 sets of Bai costumes before and after, all of which were mailed to Beijing after being done in Dali. "The process of customizing Bai costumes is not easy, but in order to show the best side on the stage and reflect the charm of Bai costumes, I think it is worth it, my family is very supportive of me, especially my mother, who gave me a lot of support and encouragement." Chen Yuxiang said.

Talking about the 4 months of participating in training, Chen Yuxiang admitted that he still encountered some difficulties. The first is the conflict between training and schoolwork. "Because going to training is a whole day, I have to ask several classroom teachers for leave, and I need to ask for many times, and when I see the teachers, I am somewhat embarrassed and worried." Fortunately, the teachers were very understanding and supportive of my participation in this activity, and also told me in advance when to take the midterm exam or test, and if it conflicted with the training time, they would also consider making time adjustments, which made me very moved. Chen Yuxiang said.
In the final week, Chen Yuxiang faced 4 exams and 7 papers. During the day to train, even if there is no network with a computer, can not find literature to write papers, he can only try to learn to prepare for the exam and write papers as much as possible after training, self-proclaimed at that time was "surviving in the cracks". Fortunately, his efforts were not in vain, his studies did not delay a lot, and he actively participated in training on time.
In addition to his studies, the cold wind in Beijing also made him suffer a little. Born in the southwest of the beautiful Bai costume can not withstand the cold wind of the north, rehearsals, put on the national costume, outdoor for three or four hours, Chen Yuxiang to always fight against the cold wind of Beijing winter. "Especially once, at 6 o'clock in the morning, I had to go to the school gate and the auditorium to record a video, and it was so cold that morning, I feel cold when I think about it now." Chen Yuxiang said. In order to overcome, he actively maintained exercise after training, so he never had a cold and gradually adapted to the temperature.
In addition to the cold wind, during the training process, the director also had higher requirements for the actions and emotions of the trainees, and Chen Yuxiang, who had no stage experience, felt a lot of pressure. Sometimes a step together has to walk back and forth for an afternoon, each time chen Yuxiang's watch is more than 10 kilometers, several times even 15 kilometers, the training is very hard, but he also said that he learned a lot from the director group.
At the end of the rehearsal, Chen Yuxiang was very excited to learn that he would pass the national flag on the same stage with models and meritorious people from all over the country and all walks of life.
