In order to save charging money, Guo Mou, a new energy vehicle driver, delved into the vulnerability of a charging APP system, and after successfully cracking it using hacking technology, he not only charged himself without spending money, but also sold at a low price. Guo has recently been indicted by the Hangzhou Xihu District Procuratorate for theft.

"Preferential sale of new energy vehicle charging services, the market price of 50 yuan, only sell you 20 yuan." In December 2020, Wang Mou, a driver of new energy vehicles, saw someone selling charging services at a low price on the Internet. Wang Mou was a little strange that the price was too low, but the other party explained that "friends are selling new energy vehicles, which is a charging coupon sent by the company." If you are not at ease, you can charge it first and pay later." Wang mou parked the car to a certain brand of charging pile, sent the charging pile charging QR code to the other party, and after a few minutes, it began to charge normally. After the charging is completed, Wang paid 20 yuan as agreed, and the price of the charging pile to charge once the charging pile is normally charged 50 yuan.

On the other hand, Ms. Zhang, who did not know the two people at all, suddenly found that the amount of money charged into the charging APP account was deducted more than 1,000 yuan. After inquiry, the deduction was concentrated on December 30 and 31, and all the consumption was in Nanjing, Beijing and other places, and she and the car were in Hangzhou, and the APP was not used on these two days.

The company operating the charging APP in Hangzhou also found that a group of users who had not used the account for a long time after registering and recharged suddenly became active in the past month and began to charge and use it throughout the country, and there were the same accounts and the same time in different regions. After investigation, it was found that someone actually used technical means to bypass the due verification procedures and steal the balance of these accounts to initiate charging instructions for charging piles. The company immediately called the police, and on April 8, 2021, the police arrested the criminal suspect Guo Mou.

Guo often drives new energy trucks to run business, and he has previously wanted to find loopholes to charge for free. He is also a computer enthusiast and was placed under administrative detention in 2016 for using hacking techniques to illegally alter the functionality of computer systems. This time, he once again used hacking technology to grab data, tamper with information, steal the balance of the sleeping account of the charging APP platform, and send instructions to his designated charging pile to power the power supply. In this way, not only can he charge his car for free, but also hang it online for sale at a low price, until one day, he found that he could not charge it, realizing that it should be discovered by the company.

The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) learned from the West Lake Procuratorate on February 11 that after investigation, Guo stole more than 20,000 yuan from related companies in this way. According to article 287 of the Criminal Law, "whoever uses a computer to commit financial fraud, theft, embezzlement, embezzlement of public funds, theft of state secrets or other crimes shall be convicted and punished in accordance with the relevant provisions of this Law", the court held that Guo X stole public or private property for the purpose of illegal possession, the amount is relatively large, and should be investigated for criminal responsibility for theft, so it recently filed a public prosecution against Guo X in accordance with law.
