The long-form Novel "Water Margin" written by Shi Nai'an in the late Yuan and early Ming Dynasties was that it became a model for Chinese novel creation in later generations after its advent. After all, in the era of "Water Margin", the so-called official government that maintained public order and good customs was simply unable to maintain order, and the court was mostly of the fox dogs such as Gao Li. But the so-called good guys in the opposite direction are not the righteous side, although they are happy to take revenge. But most of them are bloody and wanton destruction.
What is the so-called loyalty and filial piety, Xiu Qi Zhiping in the world of the Water Margin can be regarded as a mirage. But precisely because it is such a world, the brilliance of human nature that occurs in such a world is even more cherished. Therefore, this is also the reason why "Water Margin" can be respected by so many people for so long.
Therefore, there are many sequels to this book, which is equivalent to our current fandom. For the most part, these books have inherited the spirit of "Water Margin" to create another article. For example, Mr. Jin Shengsi's "Golden Batch Continuation Book" or Cheng Shanzhi's "Residual Water Margin" are all written by later generations, but they all add their own critical ideas to them, all of which emit small sparks of literary collision.
However, only the sequel "Dang Kou Zhi" written by Yu Wanchun in the late Qing Dynasty is unique among many Water Margin books, and it is actually famous for the best negative teaching material in the history of Chinese literature. The author Yu Wanchun wrote this book for the purpose of the Black Liang Mountain plus the stinky feet of the Qing court.
For example, several names in the book, such as "Zhu Yongqing", "Zhu Wannian", "Qing Wannian", etc., can be regarded as excellent names for the author Yu Wanchun. The tone of this book is to destroy Liangshan, he began to write from the nightmare of the Liangshan Po hero invented by Jin Shengsi, and deleted the parts of the original work in which the good Han of Liangshan fought against Daliao and Fang La.
Then he focused on describing how the imperial court had killed the good men of Liangshan one by one. And the biggest feature of this book is the double standard, why do you say so much? In this so-called sequel, all the martial arts skills of the good men of Liangshan failed and died in the battles they were best at.
Just like Wu Song became famous for his ability to fight the tiger, but in "Lang Kou Zhi", he was going to make him lose his strength and die. The most tragic thing is lin chong, the leopard head who is invincible in kung fu, and the "Lin Chong night run" in the water margin is a big play. However, under Yu Wanchun's arrangement, the leader of the Forbidden Army, who was forced to leave by Gao Qi, had no choice but to become the vanguard of the official army. And Wang Jin, who had already disappeared, was also moved out, and Lin Chong, who had learned from the original, scolded Wang Huan, and scolded him alive.
Most of the other good men of Liangshan, like these ones, died in their own strengths. Wu Yong, a zhiduo star who "calculates no exhaustive strategy", died at the hands of a woman known as "Female Zhuge Liang". Another example is the divine doctor An Daoquan, but he died on a simple spring plague, watching himself die of illness and so on.
From this, we can see that in a sense, "Dang Kouzhi" is actually a shuangwen novel of the overhead genre. We can understand it as Chen Daozi crossing over to the Water Margin world to change his life against the sky, and the continuation routines of many novels so far are actually similar to them.
And the legend of "Dang Kouzhi" is legendary in his viciousness, he let one Liangshan hero after another die for no reason, or died in his most proud and best thing, and his vicious intentions could not help but make people look sideways. At the same time, the interests of his works are completely opposite to those of the original works.
The focus of "Water Margin" is to reveal the truth of those so-called "committing rebellion", saying that it was "forced to Liangshan", but only anti-corrupt officials and not anti-emperor. But Yu Wanchun couldn't even stand the anti-corruption officials in it, and used the end of Liangshan's good men to forcibly overthrow the "Water Margin", how can this be endured?
Of course, the key to the book's real inability to be a good book is that it is "really difficult to avoid the scenery of thought (Lu Xun commented on this book)". The correct value tone in this book is that everything must finally end in the imperial court, and they blame all the reasons for the corruption of state affairs on Cai Jing and other traitors, and even do not hesitate to make up the so-called plot of Cai Jing's collusion with Liangshan.
All in all, in Yu Wanchun's heart, in the values of this book, the imperial court is the party of natural justice. No matter what kind of things happen to the civilians, they should not revolt, and everyone should wait with expectations for the arrival of the Qing officials, and then do their best to assist.
Such a solid and clear expression of values with a clear and favorable position, and too much whitewashing of the world. Combined with the background of the times when there were uprisings in various places in the late Qing Dynasty, this is an undoubted "reactionary book" without a doubt. Compared with the Water Margin, which he published more than 500 years earlier, the regression of the book's thinking is particularly obvious. Therefore, being regarded as a typical textbook on the opposite side of the same humanities is not a wrongdoing to him.
