Hu Huice: Follow in my father's footsteps all the way

When my father died, there was not a single word left. While sorting through his belongings, I found the familiar notebook in his wallet. The book is very ordinary, the red hard leather surface has long been polished white with the passage of time, but the texture of the book is still good. Reading the words carefully, I couldn't help but have blurred tears.

Notebooks were recorded in 1948, more than 70 years ago. It contains the ideological report written by his father in pursuit of progress; the experience of studying political theory; and the experience of his father during his war wounds and recuperation. Between the lines, my father's revolutionary footprints seemed to appear before my eyes.

"July 1, 1948, an unforgettable day in my life, was the day I joined the Communist Party of China and fulfilled my long-cherished wish. In the future, I must strengthen my revolutionary conviction, listen to the party with an iron heart, follow the party, and regard the needs of the party as my own choice. On the front page of the notebook, my father prominently placed the important matter of joining the party organization.

In the notebook, there are few records about the most brilliant battles in my father's military career, but in the form of a memorabilia, it records which years he was honored with the special merit of the regiment, which year he was honored with the first class of the division, and when he was commended... The notebook records more of my father's report and learning experience on his own ideological situation as a party member.

"I have been recuperating in the hospital for a long time, receiving treatment, there is no work to do, and my thinking is bitter and uncomfortable. All the undertakings of the country are developing greatly, and comrades have devoted their strength to building and defending the motherland with a hundred times more vigor, while they are being treated in hospitals, how unwilling..." This is a letter of instruction written to the head of the army when my father received treatment for an ear injury in Beijing.

During the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea, my father's unit was tasked with maintaining the safety of the airfield and ensuring the smooth take-off and landing of aircraft. At one point, enemy planes dropped several time bombs on the runway of the airport. The regimental commander's order must be eliminated within half an hour. On the verge of being ordered, the father took a reinforcement squad and quickly entered the battle, and when the last one was in line, the bomb suddenly exploded next to the father, the father was unconscious, and he was later rescued by his comrades, but his ears were seriously damaged. In the instruction book, the words express their urgent feelings of building and defending the motherland. However, my father also knew that the injury had not improved, so why talk about going to work?

In March 1964, my father transferred to the local area. Since then, he has ended his 16-year military career and returned to the hometown where he was born and raised, so my childhood also has many memories of my father's company. Over the years, I have felt the loyalty of a Communist Party member, the responsibility of a soldier, and the deep kindness of a father from my father. It is precisely because of this that in 1993, I chose to become a people's policeman, and 4 years later, I gloriously joined the Communist Party of China.

I followed in my father's footsteps all the way forward. With a deeper understanding of railway public security, I know that the police is not only a noble and sacred profession, but more of a persistent persistence and silent dedication, a profession that needs to be supported by ideals and beliefs.

In 2007, after 14 years as a police officer, I encountered a major setback in my work, the taste was indescribable, depressed, depressed, irritable, anxious, I wanted to try but the situation was getting worse and worse, and I didn't know what to do.

My father saw what was on my mind and he said to me, "Why did you join the Communist Party?" I was suddenly stunned, and then he took out his red notebook and turned to page 46, which recorded the most painful days when he faced a career change due to an ear injury.

"I have been satisfied with the history of being a soldier in my life, and as a party member, I must resolutely obey the organizational arrangements." After changing careers, start all over again! Looking at this passage written by my father in his notebook, it was as if a beam of light illuminated me in an instant.

Yes, compared with the father, this bit of ups and downs, setbacks and what to gain, no matter how the years change, how the world changes, the responsibility and responsibility of the police, loyalty and mission will always remain the same. It gave me the strength that I will always remember.

After this, I adjusted my mentality, slowly out of the trough, in the new post, with unlimited loyalty to the party, to the people, to the railway public security cause, along the footsteps of my father all the way forward, diligently and dedicatedly do their own work, once again by the organization's recognition and affirmation.

If, for 24 years, I have worked hard to fulfill the responsibilities and responsibilities of a Communist Party member, then my father is my best example. Be loyal to the party, be self-reliant and self-reliant; have the courage to struggle and not be afraid of sacrifice; dedicate themselves silently, without complaint or regret. This is the most precious legacy that my father left me.
