22 years ago, Xie Lin transferred from the army to the Qiaokou District Public Security Bureau to engage in anti-drug work. As an anti-drug policeman, she not only has to catch criminals with her teammates, but also has an important task, which is to help the runaways return to society.
"Sister Xie, I know that you were injured in your early years, your waist has always been sick, I heard that you are going to retire, I have never known what it is like, during the Spring Festival, I did not go anywhere, I made you a waist pad, thank you for helping me for so many years, without you, I really dare not imagine what I would become!" When Xie Lin changed out of her police uniform, Chang Hong came forward with the gift she had prepared for Xie Lin.
Chang Hong was forced to rehabilitate many times in his early years because of accidentally contaminating drugs by making friends, and after the unexpected death of his father, the originally poor life was more difficult. "At that time, there was no hope, and my family did not have confidence in me." Chang Hong still remembers that she felt that life had lost its meaning until 2013, when she met Xie Lin.
Chang Hong's first impression of Xie Lin is "confidant", different from most people's indifferent attitude towards drug addicts, Xie Lin and Chang Hong met, talked about the parents, talked about the difficulties of drug rehabilitation, helped her regain her confidence in life, and what flowed between her words was regret and care. After learning that Changhong has a specialty in handmade fabrics, Xie Lin contacted the relevant departments of the district, with the support of the street and the sub-bureau, to help her build a studio, open a Taobao online store, settle in Douyin, sell handicrafts, and Changhong's handicrafts are also exported overseas. Now, Chang Hong has successfully quit drug addiction for 15 years, and has also been named a star of drug rehabilitation in Wuhan, and the sentence she most wants to say to Xie Lin is, "Thank you, let me be an ordinary person again."
"Sister Xie, our husband and wife know that you are retiring today, so we asked the factory for leave and rushed over, and I really don't want you to leave." Mr. Zhou said. "Sister Xie, this is the first time that Lao Zhou has taken a leave of absence since he worked, and the leaders of the factory have come to see you when they hear that they have approved it without saying a word." Mr. Zhou's wife said.
In 2018, the anti-drug brigade of the Qiaokou District Public Security Bureau established the "Xie Lin Anti-Drug Propaganda Team" named after Xie Lin, and the propaganda team organized outdoor activities for many times, not only to enhance the feelings between the police and community rehabilitation personnel, but more importantly, to help them exercise their bodies, temper their will, and strengthen their confidence in life. In the spring of 2019, the publicity team organized a field trip. At that event, Xie Lin knew that Mr. and Mrs. Zhou had lost their financial resources due to drug use, and that there were children in the family who were still in school, making life very difficult. After the event, Xie Lin and her colleagues came to the community where Mr. Zhou lived to understand the situation and asked him to fill out the employment application form. Subsequently, Xie Lin contacted a number of caring enterprises to strive for the understanding and support of employers. At present, Mr. Zhou has worked in a printing factory for nearly 3 years, and has won the trust of colleagues and factory leaders because of his diligent and conscientious work. He said, "What Sister Xie most wants to see is that we can stay away from drugs and face life positively, and I will definitely not live up to her trust."
Since its establishment, the Xie Lin Publicity Team has gone through 5 years, from the initial 3 people to the current 350 people. Among them are civilian police, anti-drug social workers, volunteers, and community rehabilitation personnel. The propaganda team carried out more than 2,000 anti-drug publicity activities of various kinds, helped and rescued 560 drug addicts, successively walked into 64 schools in the district, and 76,000 students participated in the "small hands holding big hands" activity and the door-to-door publicity activity of drug prevention knowledge, driving anti-drug education from school to community and to family, and making every effort to strengthen drug prevention education for young people and improve their ability to consciously resist drugs.
Over the past few days, Xie Lin's mobile phone WeChat and SMS prompt tones have been ringing, all of which are messages from people who Xie Lin has helped, some thanks to Xie Lin's help over the years, some send good wishes, but more are retention. There are 70 messages, which represent the gratitude and attachment of 70 families to Sherlyn.
"Although I am about to leave the post where I have worked for 22 years, my work partners Xu Zhong and Wang Yong will continue to serve in the future, and I will stay in the team as a party member and a volunteer for anti-drug work, and I will spend more time with everyone, and we will work together to do a good job in anti-drug publicity and support work." After speaking, Xie Lin changed into the costume of an anti-drug volunteer and put the party emblem removed from the police uniform on her chest.
