A new journey for an old journalist

Every November 8th Journalists' Day, I always feel a lot of emotions. Speaking of which, I am also a 21-year-old journalist. My first job after graduation was to plunge into the news circle and become a small reporter who was in a storm and rampage. I remember when I first entered the industry, the media in Shenyang was particularly popular, and every day on the newsstand, there were several kinds of newspapers stacked on top of each other, and now some newspapers have disappeared.

Spicy Starts with service news

At that time, the competition in the media was also white-hot, and a news event would often hula a large number of reporters, some newspapers, some radio stations, some tv stations, and some weekly magazines, and the reporters would either join forces to interview according to the interview front; or whether they would communicate with each other; or pursue exclusive news reports, so that they could raise their eyebrows in front of their peers the next day. At that time, the reporter was really tired, and every day according to the clues arranged the day before, he had to run at least three news, and then when others returned to the newspaper office after work, they began to write in code words. I am a newcomer, and it is naturally more difficult to have no front assigned to me, and I need to find clues on my own, rather than waiting for the news release of the assigned front as other old reporters. I started with the people's livelihood rights protection report, and every day I set up close and digging clues with the colleagues in charge of the news hotline of the newspaper. Whose water pipe leaks can not find a neighbor, the property does not matter; which elderly people fell into the sewer well in the community; whose car was paddled on the side of the road... I am not too small, the first time to go to the scene to understand the situation. Due to the strong credibility and influence of the media at that time, basically things could be resolved smoothly and quickly. It makes me feel very accomplished. Later, when colleagues in the news hotline department encountered good clues, they all first found me and asked me to go to the interview, and even some newspaper colleagues encountered difficulties at home, and also let me, a small reporter, come forward and coordinate the report. I also changed from the envy of the front-line reporters at the beginning to the purpose of adhering to my own purpose of serving readers, not thinking that the news events are small, not too troublesome, and gradually creating influence with the goal of solving people's livelihood problems and safeguarding the rights of readers. Although it is not easy to get out of the news about people's livelihood rights protection, I have also found surprises in these trivial news. For example, a resident I interviewed called me one day and said that the neighbor Uncle Chen used an old sofa in the residential courtyard as chopping wood and found a bank deposit certificate of 200,000 yuan. At that time, I remember that it was the end of the year, the newspaper was holding a lively New Year's dinner in the canteen, I found a few photojournalists who wanted to go to the interview together, no one was interested, and I had to take the bus alone to go to the interview. When I got there, a bunch of neighbors talked about it, and no one was afraid of the cold in the winter, and they were trying to remember where the neighbors whose names on the deposit certificate lived now, after all, it was 200,000.

After the manuscript was written, it was already 8 p.m., and the editor-in-chief and the front-page editor were waiting for my manuscript, which was the first time that I, a small reporter of minsheng, had won such an honor. For the first time, my manuscript was left to an important position in a version, you know, our people's livelihood section has always been in the position of more than 40 editions. There are many similar interview experiences, and my feeling is that the reader's affairs are the most important, the spirit of media service is the most important, the manuscript is not big or small, regardless of the weight, and the people's livelihood reporter can also write a good manuscript. Sure enough, after more than four years of adhering to the people's livelihood rights protection position, the interview incidents are no matter how big or small, I have successively won the special prize of Northeast Journalism, the first prize of Northeast Journalism, the second prize of Liaoning Journalism and other honors by relying on service articles, and I will no longer complain that there is no other reporter's unique front advantage.

Acid The bitterness in the interview made me stronger

This is the sense of accomplishment of being a journalist, and of course there is a lot of bitterness in the work. Because the daily news source is the reader hotline, the situation here is also very complicated, some readers buy soy sauce with hair, on the grounds of news exposure to threaten manufacturers with high compensation, then we must have enough evidence and legal basis to judge the truth of the matter when we interview, rather than being swayed by the reader's appeal, or let the manufacturer perfunctory consumer. I remember once, I defended my rights for a farm, the manuscript was being written, and the leader said that I was complained by the interviewee, because the farm people said that I was related to him, so I asked the other party to accept the compensation conditions he demanded, otherwise the news would be exposed. This was the first time I cried bitterly, but later, I still explained in detail to the leader and the other manufacturer, and objectively reflected the situation of both sides in the manuscript.

After five or six years of running the news, the newspaper news industry is getting worse and worse. The newspaper layout shrank again and again, and I grew older, and I wanted to settle down, study the in-depth manuscript intensively, and make some more weighty and more connotative manuscripts. Catching up with the women's magazine in late 2013 facing the province's unified recruitment of editors, I wanted to change careers to become an editor and my dream was ignited. After a unified examination and interview, I came to the women's magazine as an editor with the first place in the recruitment position. I've always loved women's magazines, Zhiyin, Marriage and Family, and Good Life, which I still buy from college to today. I think a good magazine is really like a good friend who looks forward to visiting every month, and the communication between the lines of words lets you know how to draw energy, knowledge, experience and guidance from this wise and knowledgeable good friend as a woman. Our "Women'" magazine is always committed to being women's girlfriends, teachers, and confidants, providing help and support for women in the workplace, rural women, and female college students.

From January 1, 2014, when I joined the magazine as an editor, to May this year, the magazine needed reform and innovation, needed new forces, and needed original manuscripts, and I resolutely applied for the position of journalist. The position of journalist requires interviews, needs to contact the outside world, may be more difficult, of the four colleagues in the press department, I am the oldest, and I have been a reporter for the longest time, but I am still full of energy. This is my old line of work, I hope that I will not forget the original intention, keep in mind the mission, and continue to dedicate the light and heat of media people to the readers who need it.

Bitter few interviews that have been rejected

Different from the rampage of my youth, because of the growth of age and experience, I no longer only focus on the results in the interview, such as the interview subject must be done, no matter what, I must interview this incident and solve this problem, but I have learned to start from the other party's feelings and difficulties, if the other party does not want to be disturbed, then I would rather give up the subject matter of the interview that is difficult to dig up, and understand the difficulties of the other party.

Journalists' work from finding valuable news clues to locking in typical interview characters is a very important link, often saying that the interview is hard, but in fact, many interview processes are not difficult, to find the most typical interview characters, and to let the other party accept the interview is the most difficult link. Before, I almost never let go of any interview clues, if the other party did not agree to the interview for various considerations, I would try my best to persuade the other party to accept my interview, and tell my experience to more readers as a warning and reflect social value. So my interview plan almost never fails, and I don't allow it to fall short. However, in my interviewing career so far, I have "let go" of two interview subjects.

This summer, I want to do a group of women in special industries. The first thing that comes to mind is the female courier, female delivery worker, female driver, female prison guard, after all, the majority of male practitioners in this industry, few women, there will be many readers to pay attention to their living status and work status. One evening when I went for a walk, I saw a girl in a hurry at the entrance of the community, and the orange takeaway clothes she was wearing were particularly conspicuous, and I stopped her in surprise. I asked, "Did you finish this order?" Do you have time? The girl was puzzled, but the pace did not stop. She said, "Do you have anything to do?" I realized that I was too abrupt, especially at night to walk and dress casually, and specially explained: "I am a reporter for women's magazines, I want to interview you about the life of female delivery workers, convenient to add a WeChat, wait for you to have time for us to talk?" The girl said with special guilt: "Sister, I really don't have time, thank you." "I wanted to hold on any longer, but I saw that she hadn't stopped, tired of life, and I suddenly decided to give up. I didn't want to embarrass her because of my insistence, because her time was so precious that she had to run for life, and even though I asked her to interview in her free time, her leisure time must have been pitifully small. I can't bear to bother.

One weekend I was visiting the mall when I met a female delivery man in her sixties. Her steps almost stumbled, but she clutched a few takeaways in her hands and almost fell when she got off the elevator. I held her up, and seeing that she looked anxious and confused, I could only reduce the greeting sentences into one sentence as much as possible: "Big sister, can you add WeChat?" I'm a reporter and want to know more about the work of female delivery workers..." But she didn't even turn her head back, she didn't even refuse me, she just looked at me and continued to walk away with heavy footsteps. I understand her, she fights every minute of her life and really has no spare time to communicate with people or even interview. Otherwise, who would have rushed to deliver food and worked as hard as a young man at this time when he should have been recuperating? Interviewing them will definitely have a wonderful story, but not interviewing them is also an understanding and support for them.

Sweet is recognized by readers

Over the years of interviews, I have met many different people, heard a lot of wonderful stories, and also become friends with wonderful characters from all walks of life, plus WeChat, and have continued to pay attention to their life stories since then, which is a harvest and happiness for me.

I still remember Lu Jing, who opened a love restaurant for the elderly in Sujiatun District and provided free lunches for several years, in the morning of interviewing and communicating with her, I deeply felt how great she was a kind and good person. Later, even CCTV reported her deeds, but she still adhered to her original intention, silently dedicated love to everyone, and also influenced more and more people to join the love restaurant, including reading our report on her, contacting us to provide vegetables, melons, fruits, tables and chairs for her love restaurant enthusiastic readers. That's the purpose and joy of our interviews. There is also Dalian Railway Station Passenger Workshop Duty Station Manager Liu Xiaoyun, I wrote "Dalian Railway Station has a Baidu Cloud Station Chief", recorded her conscientious work in ordinary posts to make extraordinary contributions, she happily placed our magazine on the railway station service desk and train, so that more people can see the wonderful content of our magazine, which is also the recognition and support of readers for our magazine.

In the past 21 years, after my youth and middle age, I will continue to brave the wind and rain in the post of journalist, serve readers, and be a responsible and conscientious media person, because the unchanged purpose of my 21-year journalistic career is to serve the people.
