Tossing and turning on the meandering white snow belt, soaring into the sky. The tall and thick gray cooling tower stands quietly behind it, witnessing the achievements of athletes from all over the world participating in the Beijing Winter Olympics. "The Shougang Ski Jump is probably the best idea for this Winter Olympics!" The US media commented on it.

The design of the Shougang Ski Jump was inspired by the Dunhuang mural "Feitian" streamer, hence the name "Snow Flying".

On February 7, the Shougang Ski Jump ushered in the first competition day, and many athletes were attracted by the unique charm of this venue. Next to Shijing Mountain and the shore of Qunming Lake, the "snow flying sky" and the lake light mountain are reflected in color, and the cooling tower nearby and the steelmaking blast furnace in the distance add industrial charm, forming a strong visual impact.

Norwegian freestyle skier Bilk Rudd said the venue was stunning and the competition was fascinating. On 9 February, he won the freestyle ski men's big jump here. American athlete Alexander Hall said: "This venue has made history, and with such a good venue, it is natural for technology to improve. ”

Shougang Ski Jump is the only snow sports venue in the central city of Beijing at the Winter Olympics, and the world's first permanent big jump venue. At the beginning of the design and construction of the big jump platform, the post-game utilization was fully considered. The track was built with a water outlet, and the big jump can not only ski, but also be transformed into water skiing, grass skiing and more projects according to demand in the future.

"It is a perfect blend of competition venues and industrial heritage reuse and urban renewal. After more than 7 years of attention, I witnessed the birth of this great building. IOC President Bach said that Shougang Park has become an Olympic venue, bringing surprises to the innovative use of sports facilities.

Not only Shougang Park, but also the National Aquatics Center "Water Cube", the National Gymnasium, the Capital Gymnasium and other venues have been gorgeously transformed into ice and snow sports venues at this Winter Olympic Games. Mary Sarois, director of corporate and sustainable development at the International Olympic Committee, said the venues of the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics were repurposed to make the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics a model for sustainable development in the future.
