The four commanders of the four corps, why Deng Hua was able to lead the strongest corps to participate in the war to aid Korea

author:Xiong Xiong talks about history

The Fourth Field Army was reorganized from the previous Northeast Field Army, and the commander of the newly formed Fourth Field Army was the previous Lin Zong, the political commissar (Luo), and the chief of staff, Xiao Ke. At the same time, the 12 main columns of the former Northeast Field Army were reorganized into 12 corps, and one corps was formed for every three corps, for a total of four corps. The corps was named the 12th, 13th, 14th, and 15th Corps, and the commanders of the corps were Xiao Jinguang, Cheng Zihua, Liu Yalou, and Deng Hua, who served as the commanders of the corps under the fourth field army.

Friends who are probably familiar with history know that the four corps commanders of the Fourth Field Army are the most outstanding military commanders in the history of our army's war. However, after the end of the Liberation War, the military careers of the four corps commanders of the Fourth Field Army came to an end. Although later, the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea broke out, as the main field army on the battlefield of liberation, the commander of the four major corps in Siye, only General Deng Hua, participated in the War of Aid korea, and served as the deputy commander of the Volunteer Army, and was the first general to enter the Korean War.

Deng Hua

It should be known that the four corps commanders of the Fourth Field Army discussed military command ability, Xiao Jinguang, commander of the 12th Corps, Cheng Zihua, commander of the 13th Corps, and Liu Yalou, commander of the 14th Corps, all belonged to the best. So why? Only General Deng Hua, commander of the 15th Corps, was able to lead the most effective corps to participate in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.

In 1950, when the Liberation War came to an end, the northeast border was unstable, and the superiors wanted to prevent emergencies. The 38th Army, the 39th Army, and the 40th Army, which were the most effective in the Fourth Field Army, were deliberately formed into the 13th Corps, which was responsible for the defense of the northeast border of the mainland, so this corps was also called the 13th Corps of the Northeast Border Defense Army.

The 13th Corps, with such a strong lineup, gathered the Fourth Field Army, was the three most tenacious ace units in fighting style. In fact, the commander of the newly established 13th Corps in 1950 was originally Huang Yongsheng, but Lin Zong suggested that Deng Hua be made the commander of the 13th Corps. Then, at that time, why did Lin Zong suggest that Deng Hua be the commander of the 13th Corps with the strongest combat effectiveness?

You must know that Lin Zong's subordinates can not only Deng Hua, but also the commander of this corps. There were also Xiao Jinguang, Cheng Zihua, and Liu Yalou, commanders of the three corps. But why didn't Lin Zong nominate them? Mainly because at that time, these three were all involved in the cause of national defense construction in New China.

Xiao Jinguang

Liu Yalou, commander of the 14th Corps, as early as August 1949, devoted himself to the construction of the mainland's air force and served as the commander of the air force. Therefore, Lin Zong will certainly not recommend that General Liu Yalou be the commander of the 13th Corps with the strongest combat effectiveness and participate in the war to aid Korea. Xiao Jinguang, the commander of the 12th Corps, had seniority and ability to command the corps to fight, but Lin Zong did not recommend him. Because Xiao Jinguang at this time devoted himself to the cause of building the people's navy, he simply did not have time to serve as the commander of the 13th Corps with the strongest combat effectiveness.

It should be known that at that time, Xiao Jinguang was also appointed deputy commander of the Northeast Border Defense Army, but because of his busy affairs, he did not arrive at his post. Cheng Zihua, commander of the 13th Corps, after the liberation of Guangxi, threw himself into the economic construction of Shanxi and did not have time to serve as the commander of the 13th Corps.

As a result, only General Deng Hua, the former commander of the 15th Corps, was left shortly after the liberation of Hainan Island. On the recommendation of Lin Zong, he served as the commander of the newly established 13 Corps and went north to the northeast to defend the border state. The 13th Corps, the most powerful in history, under the leadership of General Deng Hua, entered the northeast border in a mighty way. On October 8 of the same year, the superiors decided to send troops to aid the DPRK, and as the 13th Corps with the strongest combat effectiveness, under the leadership of General Deng Hua, it became the first batch of volunteers to participate in the War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea.
