On January 20, the reporter walked into the dry quenching furnace project of Pengfei Group's Xinyu Coking Plant, only to see that the coke tank filled with red coke was slowly transported to the dry quenching coke oven.

"Now the whole circulation system, will not discharge any harmful substances, can save 63,000 tons of standard coal per year, can also generate 150 million kWh of electricity, saving about 70 million to 80 million yuan in electricity bills." Pengfei Group Xinyu Coal Coke Co., Ltd. dry quenching coke power generation workshop director Xu Peijie introduced.

At the scene, Xu Peijie was holding two pieces of freshly baked coke in his hand, which looked no different from traditional coke, but the price of the two was 200 yuan different from one ton, why?

"The quality of dry quenched coke has been significantly improved, and dry quenched coke has almost no moisture. The crush strength can be increased by 3% to 5%, and its strength after reaction is significantly improved. Li Yongfu, chief engineer of Xinyu Coking, introduced.

It is reported that the project is designed according to the annual output capacity of 1.2 million tons, which can generate 150 million kWh of electricity per year and produce nearly 700,000 tons of high-pressure steam, which is equivalent to saving more than 63,000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 200,000 tons per year. It can also significantly improve the quality of the main product coke, including the cold strength of coke, M40 (coke quality index) can be increased by about 3 points, and the strength of coke after reaction can be increased by 3-5 points. In the past two years, the company has invested 1.3 billion yuan in three sets of dry quenching coke devices and built a waste heat power plant. The billowing steam disappeared and the comprehensive benefits were revealed.

"The conventional wisdom of the past was that it was better to spend so much money to transform than to invest in a coke oven. In the process of calculating the return on investment, we calculated a long-term account, calculated a green account, and chose a path of high-quality development. ”

The dry quenching coking project of Xinyu Coking Plant was successfully put into operation, marking that the coking plate of Pengfei Group has completely realized dry quenching coke instead of wet quenching coke. The project has a strong role in promoting the core competitiveness of Xinyu Coking and achieving green environmental protection and sustainable development, and is of great significance for Pengfei Group to achieve deep environmental protection control and in-depth technological innovation under the background of the national dual carbon policy.

Dry quenching coke and wet quenching coke are two kinds of coke cooling processes. After the coking coal is refined into coke, in order to avoid combustion and facilitate storage and transportation, it is necessary to cool the coke at nearly 1000 °C. The traditional wet method of quenching coke is sprinkling water to cool down, this original method of 1 ton of coke consumes 0.5 tons of industrial water, and the steaming steam also emits a large amount of exhaust gas dust pollution. The dry quenching coke uses low-temperature inert gas closed cycle cooling coke, and a large amount of coke waste heat can be directly used for power generation, which has both environmental protection and economic benefits.
