Austria's Hemmerer won the men's snowboard steeplechase

On February 10, the men's steeplechase competition for snowboarding at the Beijing Winter Olympics came to an end, with Austria's Alessandro Hemmerer winning the championship, Canada's Elliott Glendin as the runner-up, and Italy's Omar Wiesingting winning the bronze medal. In the final moments, Glendin sped up with all his might and tried to give it a go, but still lost to Hemmerer at a very slight disadvantage. Hemmerer thus became the third men's Olympic champion since the snowboard sculpting event entered the Winter Olympics.

He is currently ranked 2nd in the World Cup table, winning the World Cups at Chongli and Austria this season, 5th in Italy and 9th in Russia. Including the 2021/2022 season, he has been ranked in the top 3 of the World Cup overall for seven consecutive seasons, and has been the overall champion of the world cup in the past three seasons, and has been on the World Cup podium 25 times in his career, including 14 times.
