Introduction of Professor Han Tianyong

Born in June 1957 in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, he is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the School of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Art at the China Academy of Art, the leader of the research department of Chinese ancient calligraphy creation, and a scholar of Japanese cultural studies. In 1984, he received a bachelor's degree in foreign Chinese and dialects from Liaoning University, a master's degree in Chinese painting from Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts in 1992, under the tutelage of Professors Sha Menghai and Liu Jiang, and in 2001, he received a doctorate in literature from the Chinese Academy of Calligraphy of Capital Normal University under the tutelage of Professor Ouyang Zhongshi. He is currently the director of the Research Center for Ancient Calligraphy Creation of the China Academy of Art, the executive vice president and secretary general of the Zhejiang Oracle Bone Literature Society, the librarian of the Zhejiang Provincial Museum of Culture and History, the communication review expert of the Master's and Doctoral Dissertations of the Degree and Graduate Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education, the Distinguished Professor of Gifu Women's University in Japan, the member of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, and the member of the Xiling Printing Society.

His published works include: "Japanese Seal Engraving Art", "Buddhist Scripture Writing", "Three Strokes and Three Traces", "Zen Inkblot", "Wu Changshuo Seal Engraving", "Integration of Interpretations of Seal Engravings of Famous Masters of Past Dynasties", and the doctoral dissertation "Research on Chinese and Japanese Zen Inkblots" won the 2008 National Social Science "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" Project Art Fund Award.
