According to the relevant person in charge of the Nantong Environmental Monitoring Center, on February 3, 2022, a number of photographers of the Nantong Love Bird Photography Association photographed a finless porpoise suspected of being infected with "skin disease" on the river near Fanyin Square in Wolf Mountain. The suspected fungal infection is judged by relevant experts, but the diagnosis still needs to be judged together with the blood test results. A stranded finless porpoise in the Anqing River section around 2005 also had this plaque, which was diagnosed as lobar pneumonia at the time. On August 30, 2020, Nanjing also photographed a porpoise suffering from this "skin disease". Although the activity of this porpoise suffering from "skin disease" has not been significantly abnormal, it is not excluded that the condition will further worsen, such as poor immunity, which may be life-threatening. At present, other finless porpoise skin has not seen the "skin disease" status, in January 2022, the water quality of the river section also reached the national surface water class II standard, there is no abnormality, Nantong Environmental Monitoring Center will continue to monitor the water quality and ecological environment of the Nantong section of the Yangtze River.
