The second phase of the Ming Lake Water Conservancy Construction Project is expected to be open to the public by the end of this year. The reporter learned from Xijiang Industrial New City on the 8th that the second phase of the project will take the high-ming water vein, green vein and cultural vein as the base to create an urban ecological central park with "river and lake integration, urban water dependence", and through footbridges, water corridors and other facilities, it will be connected with the first phase of the project.

Minghu Water Conservancy Construction Project (Phase II) is located on the west side of the first phase of Minghu Park, the core area of the riverside axis of Xijiang Industrial New City, with a total area of about 101.59 hectares, of which 1/3 is the water area. The project was officially started at the end of 2020 and is scheduled to last 2 years.
The reporter saw at the construction site that the excavation of the main body of the artificial lake has been basically completed, and some roads have also achieved hard bottoming. According to the relevant staff, the project is carrying out the stone paving of Mingjing Square, the installation of the formwork and concrete pouring of the garden road, and the installation and construction of the second foundation template steel bar and embedded parts of the Mingyue Plaza Service Center, which is expected to be officially opened to the public at the end of this year.
According to the planning and design, the second phase of the project will use the "Tree of Life" observation tower as an important node in the central axis of the park. "Tree of Life" symbolizes knowledge, hope, life and love, the tower is spiral-shaped, the periphery is supplemented by lighting, follows the effect of gradually brightening from top to bottom, and combines the theme at specific times on weekends and holidays to open dynamic lighting, forming a light show and leading the sight direction of the entire park.
On the south bank of the axis, the construction party will improve the mutual penetration of the surrounding cultural construction and environment through the construction of the park's supporting service functions, increase the cultural experience of the park, and link with the existing cultural center and two ancient villages to form an ecological and humanistic axis with local characteristics. On the north bank of the axis, the construction party will divert water into the northern plot of Ming Lake, and promote the mutual penetration of waterfront and commerce through coordinated development, forming a vibrant waterfront commercial shoreline.
"The total length of the landscape shoreline surrounding the artificial lake is about 2.5 kilometers, and about 2/3 of the area of the park is ecological green space. The park not only has a place suitable for the elderly and children to play leisurely, but also integrates some urban functional elements into the setting of scenic spots, such as marriage registration offices. The relevant person in charge of Xijiang Industrial New City revealed.
According to the above-mentioned person in charge, the overall water area planned by Xijiang Industrial New City is about 4,000 mu, of which the second phase of Ming Lake accounts for 600 mu. After the completion of the project, it will be connected with the beautiful river system, the Xijiang river system, the Lijiang water corridor, etc., forming a new urban water vein and ecological green core. At the same time, the second phase of Minghu Park will also be connected with the first phase of the park by means of pedestrian bridges, forming an urban ecological central park with "the integration of rivers and lakes and the interdependence of urban water".
