Alphari: I feel that the EU is not strong at the moment

The VIT team in the LEC Spring Tournament is currently tied for fourth place with 5 wins and 4 losses, and after beating AST today, the single player Alphari was interviewed by the Korean media Inven.

Alphari: I feel that the EU is not strong at the moment

Alphari talked about his views on the team, his comparison to his former owner TL and his opinion of the upper single wind woman.

Q: VIT is showing a lot of potential at the moment, but you don't have the stability that other strong teams have shown. What do you think of the team's current performance? Where do you think you need improvement?

A: I think the most important problem we need to solve now is to reduce team battles. Because we're all very fierce players in our team, we often instinctively chase too deeply, even when we shouldn't. The most important thing we need to solve is to reduce the number of regimental battles, and I think that is the most important. So far, we have left a good impression on everyone. I think we're going to do better in the playoffs. Or so it seems.

Q: In this team, many people with unique playing styles come together. How did you find a unified, cohesive style?

A: I think it's funny, for me the main thing is that the linkage with Selfmade is still relatively unfamiliar. The wild players I have met in the past have always liked GANK and not the wild ones. I'm not talking about Santorin, he likes to help online while brushing the wild and not falling, he's a great player. Selfmade, on the other hand, is a very aggressive fighter who loves to choose Assassin heroes and never back down from team battles. You don't need to tell him to help you GANK, he'll come on his own. I prefer to run operations to this aggressive, selfless style.

This is the most obvious stylistic difference between us. But all of us actually played well. I mean, Selfmade did a great job. There is no real disagreement between us. Each of us is adapting to the new season and the change in TP has a really big impact on the game.

Q: How do you see your role on the VIT team? Is there any change compared to when you were in TL?

A: At TL, I felt a lot of pressure because I had to have an edge. I'm better at communicating with my teammates, and that's exactly what we need: determine our tactics. CoreJJ is very good at wandering; both Santorin and Jensen have done their own thing. The whole team is coming together and taking the road as the core, which is actually not bad.

I think it's necessary. Because in the NA division, the other teams are actually very poor in singles, which is a big advantage for us. So I feel like we need to use this tactic. I think our team and the whole coaching staff feel the same way. And in the EU division, I don't think I'm under too much pressure to race and take the lead. I have a lot of good players around me. I mean, TL teammates aren't actually bad, but they're very different from each other. Now at VIT, some of our players are better able to see the game from a holistic perspective and perform better. That's the difference between the two.

Q: So you're more comfortable playing with your current teammates, so how did you adapt to the players on the EU division?

A: Honestly, I don't have any feelings for the EU players right now. I don't feel like the EU is as competitive as it was a few years ago – 2019, 2020, for example. The previous road was more competitive, when B wipo was still a good singles player and Wunder also played very well. I feel like I'm in a good state right now. I think I, Wunder, and Broken Blade will all have a good performance in the playoffs. But now, there are no singles players who have left too deep an impression on me.

Q: What is the current team atmosphere? In a recent interview with Wunder, he said FNC had passed its honeymoon and was beginning to drift apart. What about you?

A: I feel like the atmosphere in our team is great. It's a better atmosphere than the team atmosphere I've been in the last two years. It's still early, and I don't know what will happen when the pressure gets on when the playoffs come.

Criticism is to make the team progress. Unfortunately, however, a lot of players see criticism as a personal attack, but that doesn't happen in our team. Because each of us is willing to behave and talk like an adult.

I was also very impressed with our coach Mephisto and I think he is a great coach. But I'd say it's just the regular season, and the real pressure hasn't come yet.

Q: At the World Championship, you mentioned that the NA and EU are similar in strength, or even stronger. As the offseason goes by, does that still seem to you?

A: No, because I'm back. [Laughs] and Perkz is back. At the world, the FNC was missing Upset, which had a big impact on them, bean and Adam were weaker, and Nisqy didn't even know which way to support. As for MAD, I don't think they're strong because they have a waste AD in their ranks – Carzzy. (Here's Alphari joking, he and Carzzy are currently teammates at VIT) As for Rogue, I think they're not bad, and we TL and C9 are ok too.

I don't know which area is better now. Probably all bad, because it's just spring, the beginning of a season.

Q: Recently we saw the singles in the Spanish ERL League, and it played a good effect, what do you think of this tactic? Are you looking forward to seeing it at LEC?

A: Oh my God, I don't want to see it. I really, really, really don't want to. I don't want to try this routine either. I've told my coach that I don't want to try this unless there's a team that uses this routine to play well, and out of responsibility to the team, I'll try it too. But I'm still too disgusting on the wind girl's single. That's not my dish. I think it's really boring and it's bad for the game.

Honestly, the S12 season was really unfriendly to me, and the way to get more creative on the road at the moment is not to come on the road. There is no need to work hard to develop, no need to do anything. I hope Riot can weaken this quickly. And, I hope that the TP will be able to return to its original appearance so that the game will become more interesting. Because just playing for 40 minutes on the road is very boring. I think this preseason change is the worst so far. Weaken Gana and restore the TP settings, it would be really nice if you could do that.
