Q: In the second week of LEC, your highlight performance was impressive. Against G2, your aggressive incursions at the start had a big impact on the game. What was it like at the time?
Selfmade: There are many heroes in my hero pool who can carry, I chose Zhao Xin, I need to play more proactively, and I can't just be satisfied with brushing the wild all the time. G2 chose Jeela and the policewoman on the road, these two heroes are very brittle, and the suppression of the line stage is very strong. I thought, if their vision didn't spot me, I'd go straight to gank. Indeed, as I wished, we took a blood, which made the situation very favorable to us.
Q: Is it a relief to win two games after a tough first week (0-3)? Especially the strong contender G2 who won the top spot in the regular season?
The first week... The (hesitant) season is long, but when people have high hopes for you and your team is considered a "Galaxy Battleship" and you start with three defeats, all kinds of comments affect you mentally... In this case, while it will definitely affect us, we are confident before the second week of the race. Because we know what we have to do and we've made a lot of progress in training. Later it was also proved in the game.
Q: Specifically, what adjustments did you make to the second week of the race?
The biggest lesson we learned from the first week was to play the heroes that other players were playing. Because our players are stronger and the hero pool is roughly equal, we can almost automatically win the game. That's what happened.
Q: Your team has five good pros, which makes the audience expect a lot more from you, did it swell at the beginning of the season?
Not at all! We weren't fully prepared, and our interpretation of the version might not be very good, that's all.
Q: What do you think of your team?
It's the best team I've played for so far. I think Fnatic with Bwipo, Rekkles, Nemesis and Hylissang in 2020 is better. Although I didn't want to act too happy because we only played five games. But the experience so far has been very good. It's good on both the gaming and interpersonal level. We're ambitious, and I can't imagine this Vitality failing. Even if this happens, it won't be because the atmosphere between the teams is not good.
Q: When you joined the club last year, you were very experienced, but you didn't want to be captain. Is it different for Perkz to be captain? Can it allow you to focus on your game and get stronger?
I don't have the personality of a leader, so I wasn't quite comfortable in the previous Vitality. It's good now, because playing with players and good friends that I like, but not because I'm the most experienced and seen as a role model by others (laughs). I feel much better with people like Perkz, Alphari, and Carzzy. What he brings to the team is very important both inside and outside the game. He talks a lot, has a good attitude, is funny... He's our mascot (laughs). If someone is depressed for some reason, he will always help. He is a very nice person.
