Winter Olympic face | double Olympic veteran Morand: It feels good to come back!

On the 8th, at the moment when the cross-country skiing women's individual sprint (free technical) qualifier reached the finish line, the 46-year-old Brazilian actress Jacqueline Mouran was extremely happy - all her efforts were worth it.

The time is replayed to the Beijing Olympic Games 14 years ago, when Mo Lang was still a cross-country mountain biker; 14 years later, at the Beijing Winter Olympics, she not only served as the flag bearer of the Brazilian delegation, but also as a participant in the women's individual sprint event of cross-country skiing, which is her eighth Olympic Games and the double Olympic story she staged in Beijing, the "City of Double Olympics".

Moran began mountain biking training at the age of 15 and competed in three Olympic mountain bike races in 2004, 2008 and 2020. In 2005, she switched to skiing, competing in cross-country skiing at the 2006, 2010 and 2018 Winter Olympics, and at the 2014 Winter Olympics she was involved in both cross-country skiing and biathlon.

Moran's cross-discipline skiing stems from a romantic story. While in Canada for the 2004 Athens Olympic Mountain Bike Qualifications, Mouran met cross-country skier Guido Wiesel, and the two fell in love at first sight. One day in 2005, Moran was in a snowstorm while training on his bike and had to be suspended. Her husband took the opportunity to recommend cross-country skiing to her, and she immediately fell in love with the sport.

Mothers' support also plays an important role. Morant, who had suffered from asthma, started mountain biking because it was an outdoor endurance exercise that helped alleviate her condition. The mother believes that cross-country skiing is similar to mountain biking in this regard, so she strongly supports her participation.

With the support of his family, Moran had the idea of participating in the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Under the guidance of her husband, after hard work and only four months of practicing skiing, Mouran qualified for the Turin Winter Olympics. Judging from the past four Winter Olympics, Moran has achieved average results in cross-country skiing. At the Winter Olympics, she set her goal to play at the best level in the competition. However, this does not prevent her from writing legends: Brazil's first athlete to participate in both the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics, the athlete with the most Olympic participations in Brazil, the athlete who served as the standard-bearer of the Brazilian sports delegation three times at the opening and closing ceremonies... Moran set one record after another.

Moran had planned to retire after the Tokyo Olympics, but she insisted on training for another year because of the postponement of the Tokyo Olympics for a year. In this way, the pace of the Beijing Winter Olympics is approaching, Moranso once again postponed the retirement plan, and the legend can continue.

In January, Moran announced her good news of qualifying for the Beijing Winter Olympics, "What an exciting thing it is to be able to participate in the Beijing Winter Olympics and write her name into the history of Brazil again!" I am very happy and excited to represent Brazil at the Olympic Games for the eighth time. She wrote on social media.

The experience of participating in the Beijing Olympic Games 14 years ago has left a deep memory on Molang, "I rode my bicycle around the streets of Beijing and climbed the Great Wall. Because of the epidemic, the Beijing Winter Olympics will be held in a closed loop, and Mo Lang can't revisit the place, but she doesn't feel sorry, "The weather here is very good, the Winter Olympic Village is beautiful, China has made full preparations for hosting a wonderful Winter Olympics, and it feels good to come back!" ”

Eight olympic participations are a remarkable achievement, and Moran believes that the most important thing is to have a dream, "always have a dream, life will be full of excitement." She said.
