The New Year is a happy start, and our hospital ushers in a good news. On January 30, 2022, the Hunan Provincial Health Commission and the Hunan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine jointly issued the Notice on Naming The 2021 Hunan Provincial Elderly Friendly Medical Institutions (Xiangwei Aging Fa [2022] No. 1), approving our hospital as an elderly friendly medical institution in Hunan Province.
In April 2021, the Hunan Provincial Health Commission and the Hunan Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine carried out the construction of elderly-friendly medical institutions, and our hospital set up a leading group headed by the party secretary and president to formulate the implementation plan for the creation of elderly friendly hospitals. On December 28, the Provincial Health Commission conducted on-site assessment and acceptance of our hospital, and finally, the Provincial Health Commission and the Provincial Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine decided to name 124 medical institutions, including our hospital, as elderly friendly medical institutions in Hunan Province.
Build an age-friendly culture
The hospital continues to strengthen cultural construction, incorporates the care for the elderly, maintains the dignity of the elderly, and protects the legitimate rights and interests of the elderly into the hospital culture construction system, continues to promote the construction of a friendly culture for the elderly, normalizes and institutionalizes, and forms a cultural atmosphere of respecting the elderly, respecting the elderly, and helping the elderly.
Strengthen age-friendly management
Through the establishment of rules and regulations, business training, financial support, etc., establish an operating mechanism for elderly-friendly hospitals, fully implement the preferential treatment policy for medical services for the elderly, provide support for elderly health education, disease diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation nursing, palliative care, and the combination of medical and nursing care, and establish a two-way referral mechanism for elderly patients.
Optimize age-friendly services
According to the characteristics of the elderly and the medical treatment, provide multi-channel registration services, optimize the service process, and establish a green channel for the elderly to seek medical treatment. Pay attention to the assessment and intervention of geriatric syndrome, weakness, disability, and dementia, carry out multidisciplinary cooperative diagnosis and treatment, conduct high-risk screening of hospitalized elderly patients, establish risk prevention measures and emergency response plans, and inform after high-risk screening. The outpatient department and various window units carried out the "wisdom to help the elderly" action to solve the problem of the elderly's difficulty in using intelligent technology.
Create an age-friendly environment
According to the physical and mental characteristics of the elderly, strengthen the maintenance and improvement of barrier-free service facilities and identification systems, strengthen the improvement of the elderly-friendly environment, improve the medical environment for elderly patients, enhance the medical experience of elderly patients, and ensure the comfort and safety of the elderly.
President Wang Xiaoye said that in the next step, the hospital will pay more attention to the medical service needs and emotional experience of the elderly, starting from software, hardware, disciplines and other aspects, improving the friendly service environment for the elderly, optimizing the medical treatment process for the elderly, improving multidisciplinary joint diagnosis and treatment measures, improving the satisfaction of the elderly, and promoting the elderly-friendly hospital to go to the platform.
While carrying forward the traditional virtues of respecting and helping the elderly of the Chinese nation, we will thoroughly implement the requirements of the Fifth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee of the Communist Party of China on "comprehensively promoting the construction of a healthy China and implementing the national strategy of actively responding to the aging of the population", actively create a social atmosphere of respecting the elderly, and continuously enhance the sense of gain, happiness and security of the majority of the elderly.
