Is radiation protection clothing for pregnant women useful?

Let's first understand the types of radiation. In terms of physical characteristics, radiation is divided into two types: ionizing radiation and electromagnetic radiation. Ionizing radiation includes: α rays, β rays, γ rays and X-rays, as well as beams of neutrons and other particles, nuclear radiation belongs to ionizing radiation. The radiation generated by household appliances such as televisions, computers, microwave ovens and mobile phones belongs to the electromagnetic radiation range. In fact, the pregnant women's radiation protection clothing on the market has no power to ionizing radiation, although for α rays, it can be easily blocked with a piece of paper, but pregnant women always have to wrap up the whole body, not to mention there are other ionizing rays that cannot be blocked! So, does this radiation protection suit have a defensive effect on electromagnetic radiation?

The working principle of the pregnant women's radiation protection clothing advertised by the merchant is: 5% to 30% of the metal fiber is added to the fabric of the radiation protection clothing, and after processing, a "net" is formed to block electromagnetic radiation. However, after professional testing of this type of radiation protection clothing, it was found that this kind of pregnant women's radiation protection clothing containing metal fibers does have a certain radiation protection effect for a certain frequency of radiation, but it cannot cope with all the radiation. Moreover, the radiation source in real life is not single, so it cannot prevent electromagnetic radiation. From another point of view, various electromagnetic waves will enter the radiation protection suit from various angles. Because the radiation protection suit is like a metal "net", the rays entering the net will continue to reflect in this net, and the result will cause multiple radiation damage to the body.

Is radiation protection clothing for pregnant women useful?

In the Regulations on the Protection of Electromagnetic Field Radiation implemented by China on June 1, 1988, although the spectrum is specified for the scope and intensity of electromagnetic radiation, there is actually a wide spectrum of electromagnetic radiation. Therefore, whether the radiation protection suits of pregnant women are useful or not can only be explained through experiments. Similarly, men's radiation-proof underwear, radiation-proof plates, etc., which work similarly, still have no scientific basis and conclusions.
