Tesla makes crazy money in China, earning more than $80 billion a year

On February 8, Tesla submitted a 10-K annual report to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, which disclosed Tesla's revenue data in major markets around the world.

Among them, the annual revenue in the Chinese market in 2021 was 13.844 billion US dollars (88 billion yuan), a year-on-year growth rate of more than 107%, an increase of more than 100% for two consecutive years, and the contribution of China accounted for nearly 26% of the total revenue.

This is mainly due to the ultra-high output of the Chinese factory. In 2021, the Shanghai plant produced more than 480,000 new cars, more than 50% of Tesla's global production.

Thanks to the manufacturing capacity of the Chinese factory, Tesla's auto business profit margin in 2021 is close to 30%, far more than other automakers.
