According to the official website of the International Skating Federation, in the men's 1000-meter final of short track speed skating at the Beijing Winter Olympics held on the evening of February 7, Chinese ren ziwei and Li Wenlong won the top two. South Korea's Hwang Daehyun was awarded a foul in the semi-final Group 1 competition, Hungary's Liu Shaolin was cancelled for receiving a yellow card, and after the match, South Korea and Hungary filed a complaint, but both were rejected by the International Skating Federation.
The International Skating Federation released a statement on its official website on February 7, saying that the INTERNATIONAL Skating Federation short track speed skating referee received two appeals during the short track speed skating event of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics on February 7.
One of the complaints came from the South Korean team, which asked Hwang Dae-hyun why he was fined in the semi-finals of the 1,000m. According to the information announced on the video screen of the stadium, Huang Daxian was fined for "violating the overtaking result of (physical) contact".
Another complaint came from the Hungarian team, Liu Shaolin received a yellow card in the final of the 1000m Group A, and the Hungarian team filed a complaint. According to the information announced on the video screen of the venue, Liu Shaolin received a yellow card for two penalties in the same match.
The statement said that based on Article 123, paragraphs 4 and 5 of the General Provisions of the International Skating Union, the referee confirmed that the above complaint was rejected. The statement also said that, in accordance with the principles applicable on the field, it is not permissible to appeal the decision of the (referee) officer to disqualify or not to disqualify an athlete for violating any of the rules of the competition.
Regardless of the above "rules of the game", the referee and the video referee reviewed the incident again and supported the final decision made by the video referee, the statement mentioned.
