The world's largest iPhone production base, Foxconn in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, has opened the first wave of high-bonus recruitment in the Year of the Tiger. According to the news of Foxconn's official recruitment website "I want to hire", the iDPBG business group of Foxconn in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, announced that it would issue a bonus of up to 8,000 yuan for general workers. The IDPBG business group is primarily responsible for assembling finished iPhones.

The announcement shows that the general workers interviewed from February 6 can finally receive a bonus of 8,000 yuan if they are on the job for 90 days or more, and have been effectively attending for 55 days.

Chengdu Foxconn, the world's largest iPad production base, has also offered high prices. According to the information released by a recruitment agency, general workers can get up to 10,000 yuan bonuses for 90 days on the job; the hourly wage of hourly workers has also reached 32 yuan per hour, while the average hourly wage of general workers has been around 25 yuan.

In fact, large factories often do not have or only have a short Spring Festival holiday, but before the Spring Festival, there are large waves of workers returning to their hometowns, resulting in the loss of workers and the reduction of production. On the other hand, Foxconn's high-priced recruitment is also related to the hot sales of Apple products. According to data from research agency Canalys, the iPhone had a market share of 22% in the fourth quarter of 2021, ranking first in the world, surpassing Samsung, which previously occupied this position. Apple was able to return to the number one global sales position, mainly thanks to the new iPhone 13 series released last year.

This statement has also been verified by Foxconn's parent company Hon Hai Precision. At a corporate briefing held in November last year, Hon Hai Chairman Liu Yangwei said the company's consumer electronics sales were higher than expected. According to Hon Hai Precision's latest financial report, revenue in the first three quarters of 2021 reached NT$4.1 trillion (about 936.8 billion yuan), an increase of 22.5% year-on-year; net profit attributable to the parent company reached NT$94.925 billion (about 21.69 billion yuan), a year-on-year increase of 70%.

However, the global supply chain crisis also affected Foxconn. Liu Yangwei mentioned at the previous legal person briefing that the company expects that the shortage of materials may continue into the second half of 2022. In fact, last year, the iPhone was out of stock many times. While intensively recruiting people, Foxconn still has many problems to be solved.
