Creative: Users converted Apple's iBook G3 into an iPad case

IT House February 6 news, using 3D printing and power tools, recently a TikTok user converted an iBook G3 case into an iPad case with an embedded Apple Watch charger.

TikTok user @skipperfilms shows how he "disembowed" the iBook G3 and converted it into an iPad case. He removed all the parts inside the iBook G3, leaving only the casing, and then used 3D printing technology to make the necessary parts to install the iPad and accessories.

First, he replaced the display with an iPad, put the USB-C connector into the old interface slot, and added a portable battery pack to power the iPad and Apple Watch chargers, which could be charged through the outward-facing USB-C port.

IT Home learned that portable batteries, keyboards, Apple Watch chargers, and Apple Pencil holders all use custom-designed boards printed by 3D printers, with all the cables hidden behind the case.

When you're done, the iPad sits in the old monitor frame with a keyboard with a trackpad underneath, and a plug-in for the Apple Pencil under the iPad and the Apple Watch charger on the keyboard.
