Speaking of Rudolf Nureyev's fate with China Ballet, in 1985, at the invitation of his "Chinese mother" Mr. Dai Ailian, Nuriève, then head of the Paris Opera Ballet and chief choreographer, came to Beijing to perform his version of Don Quijote for China Ballet admirably, which has since become one of the classic repertoire of China Ballet. In 2013, China Ballet re-produced and rehearsed Nureyev's version of Don Quijote, specially inviting Manuel Legre, a closed disciple of Master Nureyev, the current head of the Italian Opera La Scala Ballet, and the star actor of the Paris Opera Ballet in France at the time, as an artistic consultant, and Zhang Weiqiang, a senior ballet master of the Royal Ballet of Canada and who had been instructed by Master Nureyev and played the male protagonist "Basilio" in the play, as the chief rehearser to personally guide the rehearsals for the Chinese ballet artists. After a few years, the re-screening of Nureyev's version of Don Quixote will show the strength and style of a new generation of Artists in China and Barba.
Under the guidance of artists such as Feng Ying, Deputy Director Zhu Yan, Master Xu Gang, and the rehearsal and performance of "Don Quixote", Qiu Yunting, Ma Xiaodong, Zhan Lianlu and Wu Sicong, the powerful young actors of China Andba Will play the main role.
