UEFA publicly reported that the covid-19 pandemic has cost European football 7 billion euros in the past two years

According to Spain's "World Sports Newspaper", UEFA released a report on Thursday, which revealed that the new crown epidemic has caused European football to lose 7 billion euros in the past two years.

European football lost 4 billion euros in 2019-20 and 3 billion euros in 2020-21. Due to empty matches, 4.4 billion euros were lost in ticket revenue, 1.7 billion euros in commercial sponsorship and 900 million euros in tv rights revenue.

This involved 711 clubs in the top leagues of European countries, and due to the lack of venues, the ticket revenue of clubs in 2021 was 88% lower than in 2019.

In the three transfer windows of summer 2020, winter 2021 and summer 2021, the amount invested was also reduced by 40%.
